BEFORE VISITING OUR COUNTRY
Check the validity of your passport
- It is mandatory to have a passport with a minimum validity of six months. If your passport does not meet this requirement, you will not be able to enter the country. Check the validity of your passport and if you need a visa before traveling to Peru.
- Important: Citizens of the Andean Community and Mercosur can enter with their identity card.
DURING YOUR STAY IN PERU
Check your authorized stay time in our country
- To find out, enter the following link and download your Andean Virtual Migration Card.
- Important: Do not exceed your stay time, otherwise you will have to pay a daily fine equivalent to 0.1% of the Tax Unit (UIT), for each day of excess stay (UIT 2024 = S/ 5,150).
Always carry out your immigration control
- If you are going to leave Peru for a neighboring country, remember to go through an Immigration control post to register your departure.
- Important: If you do not carry out your immigration control, you violate the immigration law and will not be able to enter Peru again or board a flight from Peruvian territory.
SPECIAL SITUATIONS
What should you do if your passport is lost or stolen?
If you lose your passport or it is stolen, go immediately to your nearest consulate. They will assist you in processing a new passport or safe passage that will allow you to return to your country. Always keep your consulate's contact information handy for emergencies.
Do you need to sign documents as a tourist?
You can do it. If you entered as a tourist and need to sign commercial, financial, private or public documents in the country, request a special permit from the National Immigration Superintendence through its Digital Agency.
Extension of permanence for citizens of the Andean Community
Citizens of the Andean Community can request online the extension of their authorized stay in Peru up to a maximum of 180 calendar days in one year. This procedure is simple and can be carried out through the Digital Migrations Agency. Be sure to arrange this extension before your authorized stay expires to avoid penalties.
