Four Departments Contributed 82.9% Of The Production Of Padded Rice At The National Level During May Of This Year

In May 2022, the production of paddy rice reached 517 thousand 956 tons and increased by 54.7% compared to the same month of the previous year (334 thousand 719 tons); This was announced by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), in the technical report Peru: Departmental Economic Outlook. He also pointed out that this positive behavior wasexplained by the larger areas harvested in the main producing departments such as La Libertad (589.2%), Lambayeque (110.0%), Cajamarca (25.4%) and San Martín (5.8%), which together contributed 82.9% of the national total produced. It is worth mentioning that in the first two departments there was earlier harvesting.
Also, favorable results were given in the departments of Ucayali (115.4%), Madre de Dios (24.0%), Pasco (22.6%) and Loreto (7.4%).
However, the production of this cereal decreased in Tumbes (-83.6%), Piura (-61.2%), Junín (-55.5%), Arequipa (-45.3%), Áncash (-14 .1%), Cusco (-12.5%), Huánuco (-11.7%) and Amazonas (-6.8%).
70.3% of avocado production was reported in Lima, La Libertad, Ica and Áncash
In the fifth month of this year, avocado production grew in the producing departments of Lima (13.6%), La Libertad (8.6%), Ica (5.7%) and Áncash (1.5%). , concentrating 70.3% of the national total.
Equally,increased in San Martín (191.7%), Arequipa (57.8%), Huancavelica (43.9%), Moquegua (21.1%), Junín (15.3%), Cajamarca (14.7%) , Huanuco (13.2%), Ucayali (12.3%), Ayacucho (2.3%) and Loreto (0.5%). However, it was reduced in Piura (-82.8%), Apurímac (-67.0%), Pasco (-33.4%), Tacna (-31.7%), Cusco (-9.4%) and Lambayeque (-0.9%).
Across the country, avocado production registered 188,392 tons, a level 7.7% higher than in May of last year (174,978 tons), influenced by the favorable thermal conditions for the growth of this crop.
Poultry production increased in 13 departments
In the month of study, poultry production increased by 2.3% when compared to May 2021, determined by the greater placement of BB chickens and laying hens. The producing centers that stood out are located in Arequipa (6.8%), La Libertad (2.9%) and Lima (1.2%), with a participation of 80.6% of the total poultry production.
Likewise, it rose in Piura (3.6%), Lambayeque (3.3%), Ica (3.1%), Áncash (3.0%), San Martín (1.9%), Junín (1.9 %), Madre de Dios (1.9%), Ucayali (1.4%), Tacna (1.0%) and Loreto (0.7%). On the contrary, it contracted in Moquegua (-5.1%), Cusco (-4.3%), Amazonas (-4.1%), Huánuco (-4.1%), Apurímac (-2.7%). ),

Copper production maintains a negative trend
In May of this year, copper production decreased by 12.6% compared to the same month of the previous year, explained by the stoppage of activities intheMinera Las Bambas and the low levels obtained in the companies Southern Peru Copper Corporation, Minera Antapaccay, Sociedad Minera El Brocal, Hudbay Peru and Minera Chinalco Peru; partially attenuated by the increase in extraction in Cerro Verde, Nexa Resources Peru, Gold Fields La Cima, added to the contribution of the Marcobre company that began operations on July 21, 2021.
According todepartments, the production of this mineral decreased in Apurímac (-100.0%), Huancavelica (-35.0%), Tacna (-30.8%), Puno (-21.9%), pasco (-20.3%), Ayacucho (-15.9%), Cusco (-13.4%), Junín (-4.6%) and Moquegua (-1.6%). On the other hand, Ica (151.8%) continued to show its leadership due to the contribution of the Mina Justa project, followed by Cajamarca (52.1%), Arequipa (25.4%), Lima (15.2%) and Áncash ( 0.4%).
Generationofelectricity increased by 1.9% nationwide
The INEI reported that the production of electrical energy increased by 1.9% compared to May 2021, based on the higher level obtained from energy of thermal origin, in the Ventanilla, Chilca I and II, Fenix and Kallpa plants.;also of hydraulic origin in the Mantaro, Chaglla, Quitaracsa, Yuncan, Santa Teresa, Cerro del Águila, La Virgen, Cañón del Pato and Yaupi power plants, among the main ones. Similarly, the production of non-conventional renewable energy (wind and solar) grew.
At the departmental level, the volumes of energy contributed by the companies located in Huánuco (10.2%), Piura (9.0%), Cajamarca (7.3%), Junín (5.8%), Lima (2 .2%) and Huancavelica (0.9%), among others. However, it was reduced in Amazonas (-46.8%), Ucayali (-40.0%), Puno (-15.9%), Moquegua (-8.7%), Lambayeque (-4.6%) , Ica (-4.0%), Ancash (-1.1%) and Madre de Dios (-0.5%).
Income collected by internal taxes
During the month of May of this year, the income collected by internal taxes amounted to 10 thousand 487 million 130 thousand soles and increased by 30.2% in relation to the same month of the previous year, due to the payments made to the income tax and general sales tax, driven by the economic reactivation of the sectors associated with the provision of services.
Among the main departments that stood out in their collection amount and registered the highest participation, are Piura (76.0%), Lima (31.5%), La Libertad (18.9%) and Arequipa (10.9%). , which contributed 93.5% of the national total captured; while only Cusco (-0.3%) presented a negative behavior.
