Traffic flow of vehicles through the tollbooth at national level increased by 4.8% during the month of October of 2025

The National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) informed that, during the month of October of 2025, the movement of vehicles through tollbooths at national level increased by 4.8% compared to the same month of 2024; and in the last twelve months (November 2024 – October 2025) increased by 3.8%.

In the technical report Vehicular Flow through Tollbooth Units, shows that this result, was based in the greater traffic of heavy-duty (5.2%) and light-duty (4.5%) vehicles.

Traffic flow of heavy-duty vehicles grew by 5.2%
During October of 2025, the traffic Flow of heavy-duty vehicles through the tollbooths of the country, increased by 5.2% compared to the same month of the last year.


This behavior, was driven by the favourable performance of the mining and hydrocarbons sectors, explained by the high extraction of copper, zinc, silver, molybdenum, lead, iron and tin; as well as the high exploitation of crude oil and liquids of natural gas; commerce, due to the dynamism of the wholesale commerce and the automotive commerce; and manufacturing, driven by the primary manufacturing subsector, before the increase of the processing and preserving of fish, crustaceans and molluscs sector.

In addition, the construction sector influenced, associated to the increase of domestic cement consumption in the private sector; agribusiness, due to the above-average harvests and suitable thermal conditions; and fishing, due to the greater capture of species of maritime origin destined to direct human consumption associated to the availability of resources to be frozen and in fresh state.

The tollbooths with greater traffic flow were: To the north, in Piura (Loma Larga Baja 27.5%, Paita 26.8%, Piura Sullana 13.1% and Chulucanas 10.6%), Lambayeque (Diversion Olmos 7.0%), Ancash (Huarmey 6.7%), Cajamarca (Pomahuaca Pucará 5.6%), La Libertad (Chicama 5.5%, Virú 5.0% and Pacanguilla 3.8%) and San Martín (Pongo 3.5%, Aguas Claras 1.2% and Moyobamba 0.8%).

In the center, Lima (Serpentine of Pasamayo 10.6%, El Paraíso 7.9%, Fortaleza 7.1% and Variant of Pasamayo 5.8%) and Junín (Quiulla 5.8%); and in the south, Moquegua (Ilo 49.7% and Pampa Cuellar 16.7%), Arequipa (Patahuasi 48.7%, Matarani concession 42.9% and Uchumayo concession 26.6%), Ayacucho (Pampa Galera 17.8%), Ica (Marcona 16.9%, Jahuay Chincha 11.7%) and Apurímac (Pichirhua 10.6%).

Traffic flow of heavy-duty vehicles for loading of 3 to 7 axle increased by5.0%
During October of the current year, the traffic flow of heavy-duty vehicles for loading of 3 to 7 axle increased by 5.0% compared to the same month of 2024, due to the greater traffic flow of loading units, such as trailers, semi-trailers and heavy-duty vehicles for loading of 3 axle (5.8%), 4 axle (4.9%), 5 axle (4.4%), 6 axle (4.7%) and 7 axle (7.7%).

Traffic flow of light-duty vehicles increased by 4.5%
During October of 2025, the traffic flow of light-duty vehicles through the tollbooth registered a growth of 4.5% compared to October of 2024, driven by the increasing displacement of persons, encouraged by the tourism sector linked to the festivities performed in different places of the country. Likewise, it influenced the holiday in commemoration of the Battle of Angamos, on the eve of All Saints Day and school trips travels that are demanded during these dates.

The tollbooths with high traffic flow, were: to the north, Piura (Paita 33.7%, Chulucanas 13.8%, Loma Larga Baja 12.6% and Piura Sullana 10.0%), Lambayeque (Diversion Olmos 20.2%), San Martín (Aguas Claras 15.0% and Pongo 6.5%), Cajamarca (Pomahuaca Pucará 13.5%), La Libertad (Chicama 11.8%, Virú 11.4% and Pacanguilla 8.5%) and Ancash (Huarmey 10.1%).

In the center, Lima (Serpentine of Pasamayo 33.5%, Fortaleza 6.8%, Corcona 6.4%, El Paraíso 4.0% and Variant of Pasamayo 2.5%) and Junín (Casaracra 10.5% and Quiulla 8.6%); and in the south, Arequipa (Patahuasi 20.8%, Matarani concession 13.3% and Uchumayo concession 6.8%), Ayacucho (Pampa Galera 8.6%), Apurímac (Pichirhua 8.5%), Ica (Marcona 6.9% and Jahuay Chincha 4.9%) and Moquegua (Ilo 6.7% and Pampa Cuellar 0.9%).
