Production of avocado grew by 112.9% during September of 2025 and three departments concentrated the 83.7% of the national total

In September of the current year, the production of avocado outstood in the agriculture areas placed in the departments of La Libertad (326.6%), Lima (109.3%) and Ica (25.4%), which contributed together with the 83.7% of the national total.

According to the Technical Report Peru: Economic Outlook by Department, prepared by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), in September of 2025 and compared to the same month of the last year, in addition it registered a positive behavior the following regions Lambayeque (350.0%), Ayacucho (60.9%), Moquegua (19.1%) and Junín (4.7%), among the main ones. Meanwhile that it decreased in Piura (-70.5%), Arequipa (-64.2%), Apurímac (-37.0%), Ancash (-19.0%), Amazonas (-7.1%) and Cajamarca (-3.7%).

In addition, the growing of avocado, across the country, reached 72 thousand 492 tons, higher volume in 112.9% than the obtained in September of 2024. This result was boosted by the increase of the exports that driven the increase of the harvested areas, favoured by appropriate thermal factors that allowed the development of the fruit destined to the foreign market and agro-industry.

Five departments contributed the 87.8% of the total coffee production
During the nineth month of 2025 and compared to September of 2024, coffee production increased in the main producer departments, such as Cajamarca (42.3%), Piura (41.1%), Huanuco (22.4%), San Martín (8.7%) and Amazonas (6.2%); concentrating the 87.8% of the national production. In addition, it increased in Cusco (73.2%), Ucayali (64.1%), Loreto (1.4%) and Lambayeque (0.7%); nevertheless, it contracted in Junin (-6.2%).

At national level, the coffee production totalized 12 thousand 994 tons, showed a growth of 27.1% compared to September of the last year, determined by the high exports and thermal favorable conditions that benefitted the harvest of the 2024-2025 agriculture campaign of this crop with great foreign demand and agro-industry.

88.7% of the total poultry production registered in four departments
The poultry production increased by 4.9%, during September of 2025, compared to the nineth month of the last year, explained by the greater placement of BB chicken and turkey in shelves, reflected in the main poultry centers placed in Lima (6.7%), La Libertad (2.7%), Arequipa (2.3%) and Ica (1.7%), which together participated with the 88.7% of the national total.

In addition, it grew in San Martín (4.6%), Ucayali (4.3%), Ancash (2.2%), Tacna (2.0%), Loreto (1.6%), Piura (1.6%), Lambayeque (1.5%) and Tumbes (0.6%). On the other hand, it reduced in the departments of Pasco (-6.5%), Apurímac (-3.8%), Moquegua (-3.8%), Huancavelica (-3.0%), Ayacucho (-2.9%), Huánuco (-2.3%), Amazonas (-2.0%), Cusco (-1.2%), Puno (-1.0%), Madre de Dios (-0.7%), Cajamarca (-0.7%) and Junín (-0.6%).


Copper production increased in eight departments
During September of 2025 and compared to the same month of the last year, the copper activity mainly grew in the departments of Ancash (26.7%), Arequipa (12.2%), Apurímac (6.5%) and Moquegua (5.8%), that together contributed with the 67.4% of the national total; likewise, it increased in Ayacucho (163.2%), Huánuco (14.0%), Huancavelica (8.6%) and Lima (2.9%). Nevertheless, it reduced in Pasco (-35.7%), Junín (-27.6%), Cajamarca (-14.3%), Ica (-9.6%), Cusco (-7.0%) and Tacna (-1.1%).

Across the country, the copper production in September of 2025 increased by 3.2% compared to the same month of 2024; this recovery during the month analyzed, was explained by the better ore grade that boosted the greater collection in the following mining companies Antamina and Anglo American Quellaveco; followed by Cerro Verde, Minera Las Bambas, Minera Antapaccay, Minera Shouxin Perú and Minera Argentum.

At the same time, it increased the extraction of zinc (25.5%), lead (18.7%), tin (13.4%) and silver (11.3%); meanwhile, the molybdenum (-27.3%) and iron (-0.3%) decreased.


Five departments contributed in the favorable result of the total electricity production
The production of electric energy, in September of 2025, increased in the departments of Arequipa (104.7%), Junín (30.5%), Huancavelica (7.5%), Piura (5.9%) and Cusco (3.3%), concentrated together the 28.1% of the total generated.

Nevertheless, it contracted in Ucayali (-81.5%), Madre de Dios (-66.7%), Ancash (-43.9%), Moquegua (-8.6%), Ica (-7.4%), Loreto (-3.9%) and Lima (-2.1%); nevertheless, this last department, was the first producer and registered a participation of 53.7% of the national total.

Across the country, the electricity production increased by 2.7% compared to the same month of the last year, favoured by the high generation of hydroelectric energy in the following power stations: Cerro del Águila, Mantaro, Chimay, Chaglla, Restitución, Machupicchu, Charcani V, San Gabán II, Carhuaquero and La Virgen, mainly. In addition, it increased the generation of non-conventional renewable energy, determined by the greater production of solar energy. Nevertheless, it reduced the generation of thermoelectric energy in the following power stations: Kallpa, Aguaytía, Santa Rosa II, Santo Domingo de Olleros, Independencia, San Jacinto and Nepi, among others.


Revenues Collected by Internal Taxes expanded in 22 departments
During the month analyzed, the internal tax collection increased in twenty-two (22) departments, among those it outstood the following departments: Cusco (29.5%), Lima (9.8%), Ica (8.7%) and La Libertad (6.2%), which together contributed with the 90.2% of the total collected. Meanwhile, it decreased in Arequipa (-1.3%) and Piura (-0.4%).

The revenues collected by internal taxes totalized 11 thousand 582 million 137 thousand Soles and registered a growth of 10% compared to September of 2024, driven by greater payments performed of the income tax of the first, third, fourth and fifth category; in addition of the payments of regularization, special regime of the income tax and tax MYPE regime. The same behavior registered value added tax and the selective excise tax.
