INEI invites in Tacna to add to the Great Parade “We all add Peru” as a prelude to the 2025 National Censuses

In order to raise awareness and incentivize the citizen participation in the next 2025 National Censuses, the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) invites the population of Tacna to be part of the Great Parade “We all add Peru”. This colorful and festive mobilization will be simultaneously performed across the country and is part of the preparatory activities of the greater national statistical operative.
The chief of the INEI, Gaspar Morán Flores, stressed that the National Censuses constitutes the most important operation that the institution executes, and that the success of the process will depend of the commitment of all citizenship.
“The information which is collected will be key to design public policies that improve the quality of life of all Peruvians. The censuses will give us a new radiography of the country”, emphasized.
Morán also announced that the census operation Will start in August 4th and will extend till October. For the first time, the data will be collected with digital tablets, allowing to register the information in real time. More than 30,000 trained census officers will travel through urban and rural areas across the national territory.
The great parade in Tacna will be carried out in Sunday 20 of July and will count with the participation of the regional authorities, INEI workers, partner organizations and special guests. All of them will visit the main streets of the city at the rhythm of traditional dances and wearing traditional costumes, reaffirming their pride by our cultural identity and the commitment with this civic process.
Great acceptance of the census convening
The chief of the INEI also thanked the enthusiastic response to the national call for census officers. He informed that, from more than 120,000 applicants, more than 30,000 persons were selected for the stage of training in field.
Alliances with ethnic organizations of Tacna
Within the framework of the inclusion and representativeness strategy, the INEI signed cooperation agreements with the Organization Afro descendant Ethnic Inclusion of the region of Tacna and the district of Sama. These alliances will strengthen the coverage of the census in the region and will ensure the active participation of the ethnic communities.
The agreements were signed by the chief of the INEI, Gaspar Morán Flores, together with the presidents of both organizations, Mario Lévano Herrera and Leticia Medina Pinto.
