It increases proportion of women and men with health insurance in the third quarter of 2024

According to the results of the National Household Survey (ENAHO) in the third quarter of 2024, women that have health insurance represented 92.8% and men 88.7%. Compared to the same period of 2023, the proportion of women and men increases in 2.0 percentage points, for each case.
This was informed by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) in the technical report, Statistics with Gender Perspective, where it stated that the percentage of women with health insurance surpass their male peers in 4.1 percentage points.
It grows the percentage of women and men with Access to the Comprehensive Health Insurance
According to type of insurance, women and men with affiliation to the Comprehensive Health Insurance (SIS) represented 65.6% and 60.0%, respectively. Compared to the same quarter of the last year increased in 3.1 and 3.6 percentage points, respectively. To EsSalud insurance accessed 22.7% of women and 24.1% of men; meanwhile with other type of insurance 4.5% and 4.6%, respectively.
It increases the school attendance of women and men to primary and secondary education level
During the period under analysis, the rate of school attendance to primary education level of girls of 6 to 11 years of age reached 99.1% and those of boys 98.1%. Compared to the same period of the last year, the attendance in girls and boys increased in 1.5 percentage point, in both cases.
Regarding the attendance t high-school education, it was observed that the attendance rate of female adolescents was of 88.1% and of male adolescents was of 86.5%. Compared to the same quarter of the last year, the attendance rate of women and men increases in 1.2 and 0.7 percentage points, for each case.
Women and man with university superior education level used in greater proportion the Internet
During the period under analysis, 98.8% of women and 97.9% of men with university superior education level used the Internet; and in the case of those that have non-university superior education level, in the case of women represented 97.2% and men represented 96.9% of men. It is worth to mention that, in the other educational levels, the proportion of access to the Internet was lower.
Compared to the third quarter of the last year, it was observed a greater use of the Internet in men and women of all educational levels.
Women and men access to the Internet in great proportion through a cellphone
During the third quarter of 2024, 89.7% of women and 90.2% of men, accessed to the Internet through a cellphone, 16.9% of women and 18.6% of men, accessed to the Internet through a laptop and 13.4% of women and 16.7% of men through a computer.

More men than women access to the financial system
During the quarter July-August-September of 2024, 60.9% of men and 55.8% of women of 18 years of age and older had some account in the financial system (savings account, fixed term account or current account). Therefore, the proportion of men overcomes that of women in 5.1 percentage points.
According to age, in all groups, the proportion of men that had some account in the financial system was higher than the proportion of women. In men of 18 to 29 years of age the percentage represented in those of 30 to 59 years of age reached 60.3% and between those that are 60 years of age and older reached 57.0%. In the case of women, these proportions represented 60.7% (18 to 29 years of age), 57.1% (30 to 59 years of age) and 45.7% (60 years of age and older).
Greater proportion of women work in activities of Commerce and Services
During the third quarter of 2024 and according to the results of the Permanent Survey of National Employment (EPEN), 71.2% of working women work in the activity branches of Commerce and Services; meanwhile that men that work in these activity branches reached 53.0%.
In Agriculture/Fishing/Mining were working 19.6% of women and 26.1% of men; meanwhile, in Manufacturing works 8.0% and 9.8% of women and men, respectively. In Construction works 11.2% of men and just 1.1% of women.
