This research has as general goal to estimate the relation between the gasps of labor competences and the educational level of the worker, and identify the actions that the companies take to close the gaps during the years 2017 and 2018. The analysis is made by size of companies. This study has four specific goals: to estimate the gaps in labor competences, to analyze the association of the magnitude of the gaps with the educational level of vacancies, to identify the actions that companies have to take to elevate the quality of the workforce and estimate the annual economic cost generated by the gaps of labor competitivity.

The key source for the development of this research is the Survey on Skills in Work (ENHAT) 2017-2018. The ENHAT is one of the first surveys at worldwide level that address the problem of the competitivity gaps since the point of view of the companies, and that has the representativity at national level, by the economic sector and by the size of the company.
