National Time Use Survey– ENUT 2024

The National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) governing body of the National Statistical System according to Specific Agreement of Inter-institutional Collaboration with the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations, will execute la National Time Use Survey – ENUT 2024. The survey is aimed to update the Satellite Account of the Unpaid Work in the National Accounts, with special emphasis in the unpaid domestic work; as well as to show the differenced in the time use between men and women for different activities among social groups and country regions, that allow to establish indicators for the decision making in politics, programs and projects.
The survey will be applied in a sample of 6,056 households, distributed in the urban and rural area of the 24 departments of the Country and the Constitutional Province of Callao; and it will be executed during the months of August, September and October of 2024. The work load assigned to a surveyor in the urban area, rest of urban area and rural area is of 8 households; in each household its going to be collected information by directly interviewing to the habitually residents of 12 years old and older.
Objectives
· To determine the differences between men and women regarding the distribution of the time use in the tasks and/or activities of the everyday life necessary for the personal, familiar and social development.
· To know the distribution of family responsibilities in the household between women and men according to age and the family relationship with the household chief.
· To evidence the division of the work by sex between paid work for the labor market and unpaid domestic work.
· To know the distribution of unpaid domestic work between the habitually residents of the household.
· To measure the time that women and men spend in unpaid domestic work in the area of activities of childcare, care of elderly people, care of persons with disabilities and/or sick persons.
· To know the participation of men and women in the voluntary and social work.
· To measure the time of women and men related to culture, sport and leisure activities.
· To measure the time women and men dedicate to cultural, sports and recreation activities.
Method of data collection
The collect of information through DIRECT INTERVIEWS, performed by personnel duly trained to that end; those that visit selected households to develop the questionnaires of the survey in mobile devices (digital tablet).
