Description
It is a statistical activity that will allow obtaining updated, timely and reliable information about the number and characterization of victimization events committed to the home and to the person, as well as measuring the perception of citizen safety and trust in the public institutions framed in the study. The conduct of this study will contribute to the design and guidance of public policies on the subject of safety. The survey will be carry out in 39,840 private homes, located in the urban area of the 24 departments of the country and the Constitutional Province of Callao, the execution period will be between the months of August and December of 2017.
Objectives
- Characterize the different facts of victimization that affect the population.
- Know the practices that the population performs to prevent crime.
- Measure the perception of population insecurity during their daily lives.
- Know the degree of confidence of the population in institutions in relation to citizen safety.
- Determine the sociodemographic characteristics of the victims of the violence phenomenon.
- Know the characteristics of the victim who perpetuated the victimization act.
- Have comparable indicators of victimization at the international level.
- Examine new facts of victimization, such as bank fraud, vandalism and illegal possession of weapons.

Collection instruments
The collection of information in selected homes will be done through a mobile device: Tablet.
Method of data collection
The method used is by DIRECT INTERVIEW, carried out by duly qualified personnel for the collection of this information, who will visit the houses selected for the completion of the electronic survey questionnaire.
