Playa Baños de Barranco
Durante la década de 1930, las áreas adyacentes a los acantilados de Barranco fueron ocupadas en su mayoría por ciudadanos de alta posición económica, quienes construyeron elegantes residencias que, en muchos casos, obstruían la vista directa al mar.  En este contexto, surgió la necesidad de crear un espacio público adecuado para que los habitantes de Lima, así como los visitantes de otras partes de la ciudad, pudieran disfrutar del mar y sus alrededores. La Playa Baños de Barranco, por tanto, representó una alternativa idónea, no solo para el esparcimiento, sino también para la integración de otras comodidades que atendieran las necesidades recreativas y de ocio de la población.  A partir de este período, Barranco experimentó un notable incremento en su protagonismo dentro de la ciudad de Lima. Este auge atrajo a una considerable cantidad de personas que, con el paso de los años, hicieron de las playas del sur de la ciudad su destino preferido durante todo el año.

In this context, the need arose to create a suitable public space so that the inhabitants of Lima, as well as visitors from other parts of the city, could enjoy the sea and its surroundings. The Baños de Barranco Beach, therefore, represented an ideal alternative, not only for recreation, but also for the integration of other amenities that would meet the recreational and leisure needs of the population. From this period, Barranco experienced a notable increase in its prominence within the city of Lima. This boom attracted a considerable number of people who, over the years, made the beaches in the south of the city their preferred destination throughout the year The relaxed and bohemian atmosphere that characterizes the Barranco district is also reflected in these bars and restaurants, making Playa Baños de Barranco a point of reference for those looking to enjoy a meal in front of the sea, while appreciating the breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. In this way, the beach not only fulfills its recreational function, but has also established itself as a multifunctional space that integrates leisure, gastronomy and local culture.
