The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI) has significantly exceeded its planned targets for the geolocation of crops in productive plots, as part of the actions aimed at complying with the European Union Regulation on Deforestation-Free Products (EUDR).
According to information from the General Directorate of Statistics, Monitoring and Policy Evaluation (DGESEP), by the end of November a total of 150,163 polygons had been geolocated directly by the sector, reaching 132.30% of the established annual target.
This progress is complemented by information provided by cooperating entities and agricultural organizations, which made it possible to incorporate more than 34,000 additional polygons. As a result, the national total amounts to 184,281 geolocated plots across 13 regions of the country.
This work is carried out within the framework of the 2025 Plan for Strengthening the Integrated Agricultural Statistics System and contributes to improving traceability, sectoral planning, and access for Peruvian products to international markets with high environmental standards.
Through the Directorate of Agricultural Statistics and Information (DEIA), MIDAGRI has prioritized geolocation as a key tool to verify the absence of deforestation in crops from productive plots, in line with the requirements of the EUDR.
By the end of November, more than one hundred thousand agricultural producers nationwide had been reached, of whom approximately 35% are women and 65% men, strengthening their integration into traceability and production registration systems.
With these results, Peru continues to move toward more sustainable and competitive agriculture, generating new opportunities for thousands of agricultural producers.
