The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI), through the Vice Ministry of Policies and Supervision of Agrarian Development and with the technological support of the AgroDigital platform, has reached an unprecedented milestone in the modernization of the sector: more than 140,000 coffee, cacao, and oil palm plots have been geolocated in 13 strategic regions of the country, including San Martín, Junín, Cajamarca, Amazonas, Cusco, Ayacucho, Huánuco, Ucayali, Piura, Puno, Pasco, Loreto, and Madre de Dios.
This achievement marks a decisive step toward complying with the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and consolidates Peru as a regional benchmark in the implementation of a reliable, interoperable, and geolocated Agricultural Information System.
The process is being carried out in coordination with producers, associations, and agricultural cooperatives linked to high-value supply chains, strengthening a collaborative work model that makes it possible to identify deforestation-free areas and ensure that the coffee, cacao, and oil palm produced in the country can access European markets competitively.
At the same time, MIDAGRI continues to conduct technical and informational training sessions in the prioritized regions, with the aim of strengthening local capacities, providing direct guidance to producers, and facilitating their adaptation to new international market standards.
Through this effort, MIDAGRI reaffirms its commitment to sustainable and competitive agrarian development aligned with global standards, strengthening market confidence and supporting the work of thousands of farmers who cultivate responsibly.
