The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI), within the framework of the 2025 Plan for Strengthening the Integrated Agricultural Statistics System (SIEA) and as part of the action line aimed at the geolocation of productive plots of coffee, cacao, and palm to enhance producers’ access to international markets through the Agricultural Producers Registry (PPA), held the training workshop “Use of the AgroDigital PPA Application” in the district of Irazola, city of San Alejandro, Ucayali region.
The activity brought together around 20 cacao producers, who actively participated in practical sessions focused on the use of the Agro Digital PPA mobile app — a key tool for recording, updating, and validating production information directly from the field.
During the workshop, the importance of digital registration of agricultural producers and the geolocation of plots was emphasized. These actions contribute to production traceability, improved agricultural planning, and the strengthening of farmers’ digital identity.
These initiatives align with the objectives of the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), facilitating producers’ access to international markets under sustainable environmental standards. Additionally, a Capacity-Building Workshop was held for professionals and technicians in the Ucayali region to improve performance and efficiency in geolocation tasks within the PPA registration and updating process.

During this session, participants addressed technical topics related to geospatial tools, fieldwork methodologies, and data validation procedures, promoting collaborative learning among the participating teams. As part of the supervision and monitoring activities for the PPA geolocation process, the project’s technical team carried out a field visit to producers’ plots in the district of Irazola, province of Padre Abad, Ucayali region.
The plots, dedicated to cacao cultivation, were precisely geolocated using the Agro Digital PPA application’s digital tools, ensuring accurate property identification, validation of production information, and integration of the data into MIDAGRI’s national system.
This action is part of the ongoing technical follow-up and local capacity-strengthening process aimed at building a reliable and up-to-date national database of agricultural producers.
Through these efforts, MIDAGRI reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the digital capacities of the agricultural sector, promoting the technological inclusion of Ucayali’s producers, and consolidating a more competitive, sustainable, and globally prepared agriculture.
