The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI), in coordination with women leaders of the Chopcca Nation, the NGO World Vision Peru, and the National University of Huancavelica, is working to strengthen the digital skills of women entrepreneurs and agricultural producers in the province of Acobamba.
This initiative seeks to promote the use of the AGRODIGITAL application in rural communities, enabling entrepreneurs and producers to access MIDAGRI services and improve their competitiveness in the markets.
As part of this effort, it was agreed to train 130 students from the Professional School of Agronomy, who, alongside their professors, will become knowledge multipliers in their home communities, covering all eight districts of Acobamba, including those belonging to the Chopcca Nation.
Additionally, World Vision Peru, which provides technical support to local entrepreneurs, will play a key role as a facilitator and liaison between institutions and communities, ensuring a participatory and intercultural process.
This joint effort reflects a collaborative model among the State, academia, civil society, and communities, which not only promotes the use of digital tools in agriculture but also strengthens women's leadership and the participation of Indigenous communities in sustainable agricultural development.
Through these actions, MIDAGRI reaffirms its commitment to bringing technological innovation to rural families, promoting an inclusive, competitive, and environmentally responsible agricultural sector.
