MIDAGRI launches a series of regional workshops to prepare coffee and cacao producers for the EUDR

The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI) is promoting a series of regional technical workshops to disseminate the European Union Regulation on Deforestation (EUDR) and strengthen the coffee and cacao production chains in the country.
The activities are aimed at producers, technicians, regional authorities, unions, and universities, with the goal of training and supporting coffee and cacao growers in adapting to this international regulation, ensuring the sustainability and competitiveness of their products in global markets.
The work plan, led by the Directorate-General for Agricultural Policy of MIDAGRI, It seeks to develop technical skills that enable a comprehensive understanding of the EUDR, disseminate the country's progress in enabling conditions, and gather key information for the design of strategic sectoral actions.
During the regional visits phase, meetings were held in Puno, Madre de Dios, and Cusco, with the participation of regional governments, chambers of commerce, and universities, who reaffirmed their commitment to jointly promote these training opportunities.
The next regional workshops will be held on the following dates:
* Madre de Dios: October 22 and 23, 2025.
* Puno: October 5, 6, and 7, 2025.
* Cusco: October 9 and 10, 2025.
To ensure greater impact, these actions are supported by the National Coffee Board (JNC) and the Peruvian Association of Cacao Producers (AppCacao), strategic partners in collaboration with producers.
With this initiative, MIDAGRI reaffirms its commitment to working in a coordinated manner to ensure that Peruvian coffee and cacao producers are prepared for new international demands, contributing to sustainable development and positioning Peru in the most demanding markets worldwide.
