As part of compliance with the EUDR, the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI) has signed 42 Memoranda of Understanding (MdE) with coffee and cocoa cooperatives, associations, and companies for the free geolocation of agricultural plots.
This progress is the result of ongoing fieldwork, technical visits, and collaboration with regional stakeholders. The signed Memoranda of Understanding (MdE) lay the groundwork for the free geolocation of agricultural plots, a key measure to comply with the European Union Anti-Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), facilitate production traceability, and strengthen the sustainability of Peruvian agriculture.
The signed agreements are distributed among the regions of San Martín (12), Junín (12), Amazonas (9), Cajamarca (3), Lima (3), Cusco (1), Huánuco (1), Puno (1).
In total, 42 MOUs are active, with a strong territorial presence, facilitating inclusion in official agricultural information systems within the framework of compliance with the EUDR.
Likewise, the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI) requested that agrarian organizations share the polygons of their already geolocated plots, in order to strengthen the national database, improve agricultural territorial planning, and optimize state services for those most in need.
With these actions, MIDAGRI reaffirms its leadership and commitment to a modern, inclusive agriculture that is resilient to climate change and aligned with the challenges of global responsible trade.
