The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI), in partnership with agricultural organizations in thirteen regions, is promoting the geolocation of agricultural plots as part of its strategy to comply with the new European regulation against deforestation (EUDR) and strengthen sustainable, competitive, and deforestation-free agriculture.

Through the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with cooperatives, associations, and companies in the agricultural sector, the MIDAGRI formalizes a joint roadmap with producers to translate commitments into concrete actions. This instrument allows for coordinated efforts toward more transparent, traceable agricultural production that meets new international standards.

One of the key pillars of this process is the geolocation of agricultural plots. Thanks to the coordinated work with more than 250 promoters deployed throughout the country, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Livestock (MIDAGRI) has committed to carrying out this process at no cost to producers. The promoters, with a territorial presence in the thirteen regions involved, provide direct technical support to farmers, facilitating their inclusion in the official agricultural information system.

In addition, MIDAGRI is calling on agricultural organizations to share the polygons of their already geolocated plots. This information will help consolidate a database, improve program planning, optimize agricultural services, and better target the farmers most in need.
With these actions, MIDAGRI reaffirms its commitment to a modern, inclusive agriculture aligned with the global challenges of climate change and responsible trade.
