The Geological, Mining and Metallurgical Institute –INGEMMET took part in the “International Mining & Resources Conference” (IMARC) Online 2020, in the section called “La Hora Peruana” which brought together some national authorities: Jaime Gálvez Delgado, Minister of Energy and Mines and representatives of other institutions.

Thus, MSc. Susana Vilca Achata, executive president of INGEMMET, participated with the exhibition titled: "Geological Potential in Peru: Contributions for the Promotion of Mining Investments". This mining event is considered the most important in Australia and the Asia Pacific region.

During the exhibition, she highlighted the use of artificial intelligence with the aim to incorporate added value to geoscientific information to improve the user experience. All this activity was carried out within the framework of the investigative role. Besides it aims to strengthen the generation of geological knowledge and the grantor role, in the granting of mining concession titles.

She also said that INGEMMET is implementing the online request. In that regard, a request can be made from anywhere in the world in a quick, dynamic and mainly secure manner.

Furthermore, she announced that they are working on the Geopromine platform, which integrates free-claimed areas with information on the geological potential in order to generate mining exploration targets and to facilitate investment in exploration. She also highlighted the importance of the GEOCATMIN platform, which is updated in real time and has more than 200 layers of geological and mining information with free access and available to users.

Likewise, she added that there are 500 maps of the National Geological Chart which are available at 1,000K-scale and 918 maps of the National Geological Chart at 50K-scale. The last one mentioned is in the culmination phase. Thus, there are 22928 sediment samples from streams and 3794 dating samples to know the precision of the age of the rocks in geochronology.

Besides, she said that 23 metallogenetic belts. Thus, they are all studied according to the age mineralization, type of deposit, type of economic element, size and grade of the mineral deposit, as well as the production belts, its reserves and other recourses as well.

IMARC Online 2020 takes place from November 24th to 27th and it brings together the global resource and mining community with the purpose to interact, to make contact, to learn and to participate; through workshops, keynote presentations and private meetings.

This conference annually brings together more than 7,000 mining leaders, investors, politicians, commodity traders and technical experts and researchers from more than 100 countries. People who are interested to attend the conferences online for free can get the access after registering on the event website on the following link: https://bit.ly/36Y5TGE.
