INGEMMET PUBLISHES THE BOOK OF ABSTRACTS OF THE SECOND INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM OF PALEONTOLOGY OF PERU

The Geological, Mining and Metallurgical Institute - INGEMMET published the book of abstracts of the "2nd International Symposium of Paleontology of Peru”. Thus, the results of the scientific researches presented during the event are all released.

This is an open access document of the institutional repository. Likewise, it focuses on the preservation of paleontological works as well as their predictions and technological applications in the different specialties and related disciplines.

The “2nd International Symposium of Paleontology of Peru” was jointly organized with the Geological Society of Peru and it had as slogan “Modern Trends of Paleontology Applied to Geology”. Furthermore, this event consisted of six thematic sessions, each of them together with a forum or round table.

The previously mentioned sessions are the followings: “Paleontology, Systematics and Evolution”, “Biostratigraphy and Geological Time”, “Paleoclimatology and Paleogeography”, “Economic Paleontology of Deposits”, “Paleontological Heritage and Geoparks” and “Paleontological Geoethics, Education and Society.”

Moreover, it contains Master Conferences and a gallery of images that summarizes and expresses all the activities held during this event which involved more than 240 participants. They all attend the exhibitions through 44 oral presentations, 08 Master Conferences, 15 Forums and 04 Round Table exhibitions.

By publishing this book, INGEMMET seeks to highlight the importance of paleontological research for the geological knowledge of our territory with the purpose to be analyzed by several authors for future research that is useful for different sectors.
