Launch of book "Peru & Great Britain, A History in Common"
The Embassy of Peru, the Anglo Peruvian Society and the British Peruvian Cultural Association, cordially invites you to the launch of the book “Peru & Great Britain, A History in Common”.
With the aim of continuing to strengthen ties between Peru and Great Britain, existing since Peru’s independence in 1821, this book presents an historical approach to the British presence in Peru with unpublished material, that brings together documents, oral stories rescued from oblivion, as well as paintings and photographs.
This includes the British participation in the wars of Peruvian independence, through notes on diplomatic exchanges in the nineteenth century, British travelers, immigration and families; the British origin of Peruvian soccer, among other contributions to this common history.
