Peruvian Embassy holds Peruvian poetry discussion

September 20, 2024.- Today the Peruvian Embassy in Ireland held a discussion on Peruvian poetry, before a series of academics and enthusiasts of this art in Ireland.
During the discussion, a brief review of the vast world of poetry in Peru was made, exploring the most representative authors of this genre such as César Vallejo, Blanca Varela and Luis Hernández. Examples of their works were shared and the relevance of poetry in Peruvian culture was highlighted. Participants were able to recite poems and interact on the texts presented, thus enriching the cultural exchange.
This event was held within the framework of "Culture Night” 2024, a day organized by The Arts Council in which various educational and cultural institutions open their doors to the public to offer free activities.
The Embassy of Peru in Ireland thanks the Peruvian poets Isabela Basombrío and Omar Pinedo, as well as the Peruvian writer Rafael Romero for successfully moderating and conducting the discussion. Likewise, the Embassy thanks the attendees for being part of an event that seeks to promote Peruvian poetry and creativity in Ireland.
