Inauguration of the “Kaypi Peru 2021” Festival in Washington

On July 15, 2021, the Ambassador of Peru to the United States, Hugo de Zela, inaugurated the cultural festival "Kaypi Peru-2021”. Taking place in the United States since 2010, it aims to spread the cultural richness of Peru and promote tourism. This year, it allows the North American public to be a participant in the commemoration of our bicentennial of national independence.

Kaypi Peru, which in Quechua means "This is Peru", presents free concerts by renowned artists, handicraft and gastronomy workshops, art exhibitions, Quechua classes, as well as Peruvian history.

The public is able to enjoy a concert by more than 60 Peruvian musicians residing in different parts of the world, all of them directed by the conductor Miguel Harth-Bedoya.  You may appreciate an unprecedented interpretation of Andean lyric in the voice of the singer Sylvia Falcón, as well as Peruvian jazz by singer Pilar de la Hoz.

It can be accessed virtually through: www.kaypiperu.org
