Sector services provided to companies increased 1.81% in January of 2024

In January 2024, sector services provided to companies registered an increase of 1.81% compared with the same month of the last year, explained by three of its main components: professional, scientific and technical activities, travel agencies and tour operators and advertising and market research. 
 
Nevertheless, the activities of administrative services and support to companies registered a decrease. 
 
Architecture and engineering services boost professional, scientific and technical activities 
Professional, scientific and technical activities grew 2.88%, due to the good performance of architecture and engineering activities with engineering project assignment, consultancy in mining production, installation of electrical network, telecommunications, gas and sanitary networks, maintenance of electric power stations infrastructure, milestones attained and supervision of works. Essays and technical analysis grew due to the greater quantity of samples received and processed at national level. 
 
On the other hand, management consultancy activities showed a growth due to new business operations, solutions and strategic services to big companies and corporations, consultancies of state of the art technologies and new business models.
 
Meanwhile, legal activities increased due to the greater attendance of people to notaries, recoveries of court proceedings, legal advice in civil, commercial, corporative, constitutional law, litigations and dispute settlement. At the same time, the accounting activities, grew due to audit procedures, accounting outsourcing, administration of payrolls, tax and labor consultancy. 
 
Advertising and market research increased by 5.63%
In January of 2024, the advertising and market research activity increased by 5.63% due to dynamism of advertising sector, with the launching of summer campaigns, brand activations and trademarks events, products and services; digital advertising in different social platforms creative designs and audio-visual animation for commercial production of TV and Internet ads, programmatic advertising and exterior panels in roadways and shopping centers.
 
The same behavior registered in research of markets and conduction of public opinion surveys, due to social studies at local and regional level, market studies, analysis and interpretation of surveys and opinion polls about conjuncture, politics and public interest subjects.
 
Travel agencies and tour operator activity increased by 44.02%
Travel agencies and tour operators registered a growth of 44.02%, due to that travel agencies offer sales promotions, discounts, mileage redemption tickets, exclusive offers in online purchases for flights, tour packages, hotel reservations, rent of cars, and cruise services, after the start of the summer season, family vacations and advanced purchases due to festivities and carnivals within the country.
The greater activity was also favored by the performance of the International Fair of Tourism - FITUR 2024 in Madrid (Spain), organized by Promperú. Likewise, the tour operators grew due to feasts within the country before the great flow of domestic and foreign tourists.
 
Administrative and support services reduced by 2.69%
Activities of administrative and support services decreased by 2.69%, due to private security sector, explained by the culmination of contracts with customers, reduction of security perimeter and lower contraction of agents for installations and personal protection.
 
In addition, the activities of security systems service were affected by the termination of contracts and installation of equipment. Likewise, the activity of rental and operational lease decreased due to lack of work areas, stoppage of works and adverse weather conditions in provinces. 
 
The activities related with employment decreased in temporary work agencies, due to the end of production campaigns and division of companies. In addition, the activity of labor supply agencies decreased due to the lower recruitment and selection of executives, professionals and outsourcing of personal. General cleaning of buildings decreased due to the termination of contracts and pending biddings. Likewise, the activities of telephone exchange decreased due to the absence of campaigns.
