Sector services provided to companies registered increase of 0.99% in December 2023

During December 2023, the sector services provided to companies registered a growth of 0.99%, compared to the same month of the last year, determined by the positive evolution of its components: professionals, scientific and technical activities, advertising and market research and travel agencies and tour operators.

Nevertheless, the activities of administrative and support to businesses services registered a decrease. In 2023, the sector registered a progress of 0.50%, with driving forces to growth such as corporate strategies and increase of projects and of tourism.

Professionals, scientific and technical activities registered a positive trend of 1.21% in response of the favorable behavior of the architecture and engineering activities due to the development and execution of geophysical projects, increase of mining activities, additional recruitment of services, enlargement and maintenance of power distribution networks.

Likewise, essays and technical analysis grew due to greater simples received and processed at national level. The legal activity increased due to more contracts acquired, progress of judicial proceedings, a large number of public in notaries and consultancies in civil, entrepreneurial, criminal and labor field.

The accounting activities, showed increase due to the demand of audits, accounting, financial, labor and tax consultancy. Likewise, the business management consultancy activities increased due to business consulting, investment projects, strategic planning, management of human talent, technology of information and consulting in all the company’s area.

Travel agencies and tour operators registered increase of 12.56%, after eight months of consecutive downwards. The recovery of this services branch was due to the arrival of group of tourists caused by end of year parties, reservations of touristic packages for vacations, business and family visits.

Likewise, the work of Commission for Peru Promoting for Export and Tourism (Promperú) and Ministry of Tourism had a positive impact in the confidence of the receptive and national tourism. At the same time, the tour operators showed by the income of groups of national and foreign tourists for its tailored tours (guided tours, transportation, accommodation, excursions, visits to museums, trekking and canoeing).

Advertising and market research increased in 3.58%, mainly by the advertising sector before the launching of festive campaigns for Christmas and for end of year parties, increase of digital advertising such as advertising spots in videos and audios by Internet, marketing of search engines, marketing of influences and contents, digital advertising in closed spaces such as shopping centers, banks, retail and clinics and traditional advertising (static banners, leaflets and posters). Likewise, a growth was registered in the activity of market research and perform of surveys of public opinion, with research works, surveys and polls in economic, politic and social subjects.

Activities of administrative and support services decreased by 1.53%, due to the activities related with the employment with low demand in temporary work agencies and agencies of job placement explained by the low requirement of temporary and complementary personnel, as well as technical and professional personnel. Likewise, the activities of telephone exchanges showed negative trend due to lower services of call center.

In addition, the services to buildings and gardening activities decreased due to general cleaning of buildings offices and industries. Security and research services were affected by private security before the ending of contracts and lower orders of services and quotations. On the other hand, the activities of rent and operational leasing presented increase due the rent of machinery, equipment and tangible goods for the execution of projects and public works.
