Representatives of the National Institute of Statistics of Equatorial Guinea made a study technical visit in the INEI

The National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) received a study technical mission of the National Institute of Statistics of Equatorial Guinea (INEGE), with the aim of strengthening the statistical and improving the quality of socio-economic statistics in the African country.
This visit took place from February 12 to 15 of the current year, is based in the agreement establishments in the Inter-institutional Cooperation Agreement signed between both parties, that seeks to promote the exchange of experiences and information to enrich the knowledge of the socio-economic reality and to strength the technical and human capabilities withing the field of statistics and research.
Led by Mr. Ricardo Nsue Ndemesogo Obono, Managing Director of the National Institute of Statistics of Equatorial Guinea, the INEGE mission was held in the INEI central facilities. During this period, a series of meetings with responsible officers of the statistical infrastructure of the country, that comprises since the execution of the main permanent surveys till the responsible of the bodies of the line managers of the production of the economic and social indicators. In addition, there were held meetings with the managers of the preparatory activities of the XIII Population Census, VIII of Household and IV of Indigenous Communities and other operational census previous executed in order to exchange experiences and good practices in the planning and execution of these essential statistical processes.
Another of the significant milestones reached in this collaboration had been the detailed analysis of the procedures for the preparation of the National Accounts in Peru, within the context of the 2008 System of National Accounts (SCN2008), together with the use of the ERETES tool. These discussions complement the technical assistance provided by experts of the INEI National Direction of National Accounts to INEGE officials in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea capital, during 2018.
This way both institutions strengthen their commitment with the continuous improvement of the statistical capacities and strengthen of the quality of the socio-economic statistics, contributing to the development and sustainable growth of their respective countries.
