Traffic flow of vehicles at national level increased 1.7% in November of 2023

The National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), informed that during the month of November of 2023, the National Rate of Vehicular Flow the one that reports the movement of light-duty and heavy-duty units through the tollbooths of the country increased in 1.7% compared to the same month of 2022.
 
In the technical report, Vehicular Flow by Tollbooths indicates that the monthly result was associated to the increase of the traffic flow of light-duty (2.8%) and heavy-duty (0.3%) units.
 
Traffic flow of light-duty vehicles grew 2.8%
During the month of November of 2023, the traffic flow of light-duty vehicles through the toll booths across the country increased 2.8%. This behavior was encouraged by the greater transfer of persons within the interior of the country to celebrate All Saints Day, therefore boosting touristic, commercial and accommodation activities.
 
The toll booths that reported high traffic flow at the north were, in San Martin (Moyobamba 157.5%, Pongo 0.7% and Aguas Claras 0.2%), Piura (Chulucanas 3.3%) and Lambayeque (Diversion Olmos 0.5%). 
In the center, Lima (Serpentine of Pasamayo 9.7% and Variant of Pasamayo 7.3%); and in the south, Arequipa (Matarani-Concesión 8.3% and Uchumayo-Concesión 5.7%), Moquegua (Pampa Cuéllar 8.3%), Ica (Marcona 8.3%), Apurímac (Pichirhua 6.6%) and Ayacucho (Pampa Galera 0.5%).
 
Traffic flow of heavy-duty vehicles at national level slightly increased in 0.3% 
During the month under analysis, the traffic flow of heavy-duty vehicles registered through the toll booths of across the country increased 0.3% compared to the month of November of 2022. This result was driven by the significant demand of these units, due to the good performance of mining, fishing and agricultural activities; dimmed by the negative behavior of the Manufacturing and Construction sectors.
 
The toll booths that registered high traffic flow of heavy-duty vehicles were, to the north, Piura (Loma Larga Baja 32.6%), San Martín (Moyobamba 28.6%, Aguas Claras 13.0% and Pongo 7.6%) and Lambayeque (Diversion Olmos 2.2%). In the center, Junín (Quiulla 4.5%) and Lima (Serpentine of Pasamayo 3.7% and Variant of Pasamayo 2.1%); and in the south, Moquegua (Pampa Cuéllar 34.7%, Ilo 6.6%), Arequipa (Matarani-Concesión 28.0% and Uchumayo-Concesión 15.6%), Ayacucho (Pampa Galera 11.2%), Apurímac (Pichirhua 8.3%) and Ica (Jahuay Chincha 3.9%).
 
Traffic flow of heavy-duty vehicles for cargo of 3 to 7 axle increased 2.6%
During November of 2023, the traffic flow of heavy-duty vehicles for cargo of 3 to 7 axle, increased in 2.6% compared to the same month of 2022, due to the greater traffic flow of trailers, semi-trailers and heavy-duty trucks of 3 axle (2.1%), 5 axle (5.4%), 6 axle (3.1%) and 7 axle (14.7%); nevertheless, the traffic flow of 4 axle vehicles reduced (-2.8%).
