Services provided to Companies sector registered a decrease of 0.92%, in November 2023

During November of 2023, the Services Provided to Companies Sector registered a decrease of 0.92%, compared to the same month of the last year, determined by the negative evolution of professional, scientific and technical activities, travel agencies and tour operators, the activities of administrative services and support to companies. Nevertheless, advertising and market research activity registered a growth.
Between January and November of 2023, the Services Provided to Companies Sector accumulated a progress of 0.42%, compared to the same period of 2022.
Professional, scientific and technical activities reduced by 1.04%
Professional, scientific and technical activities registered a decrease of 1.04% as a result of the contraction of architecture and engineering activities, due to the termination of contracts, completion of projects in provinces, lower approved valuations, work stoppage, decrease of counseling, consultancies, supervision of geo-technical, environmental and construction projects. On the other hand, essays and technical analysis showed a growth due to lab services, physical, chemical and mechanical, compliance testing and certification, sample preparation, analysis of precious metals and metallurgic tests.
Accounting activities increased due to audit services, tax preparation, elaboration of payrolls, control, registration and processes. The same behaviors showed the legal activities due to greater influx of people to Notaries, comprehensive advice, progress of civil processes, formation of partnerships, mergers and acquisitions. In parallel, management consultancy activities grew due to management services, business consultancies, advising in budgetary control and loyalty programs.
Decrease activity of travel agencies and tour operators
The area travel agencies and tour operators registered a contraction of 10.84% in November of 2023, affected mainly by the lower activity of travel agencies. This as a consequence of the decrease of the demand of travel organized and planned by these companies, lower placement of touristic packages, flight reservations, accommodations and tours due to the lower demand of these services that are replaced by direct purchases of tourists, without any intermediation.
On the other hand, tour operator showed a growth due to peak tourist season and travels of end of the year, full days, tours, guided tours the weekends and holidays.
Drop in the area of administrative and support services
The activities of administrative and support services registered a decrease of 1.19%, explained mainly by the services of private security that had lower personal hiring for physical security for private institutions and the non-renovation of contracts. Likewise, the activities of service of security systems decreased by the lower services of video-surveillance and monitoring of alarms of dwellings, houses, offices and industries.
The activities of employment and temporary employment agencies also decrease due to the low human talent management, lower search, recruitment and selection of qualified personal. The same happened with the general cleaning of buildings. On the other hand, the activities of telephone exchanges increased due to customer service and telemarketing. The rent and operational leasing increased in machinery and specialized equipment for mining sector, new work fronts and contracts renewals.
Christmas and summer season boost advertising and market research area
Advertising and market research registered an increase in 4.02% due to the dynamism of the advertising area before the greater investment in advertising campaigns due to Christmas and summer season, renovation of advertising spots in railroads, streets and shopping centers, designs of trademarks, innovating, strategic and creative products for ATL and BTL campaigns in order to reach large audiences and of high impact. Market research and perform of public opinion poll outstood due to studies and research of marketing, consumer profile, social and economic analysis, surveys and polls.
