Mining and Hydrocarbons sector grew 8.04% In November of 2023

During November of 2023, the production of Mining and Hydrocarbons sector increased by 8.04%, compared to the same month of the last year, explained by the expansion of the metallic mining activity in 10.60%. This was announced by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) in the technical report Conjuncture Progress of the Economic Activity.
Contributed with this positive performance the greater volumes of copper (11.7%), molybdenum (19.5%) and gold (9.7%); attenuated by the fall of the hydrocarbon subsector in 7.98%, before the lower production of natural gas (-13,2%), liquids of natural gas (-5.9%) and crude petroleum (-4.2%).
Fishing sector increased by 60.96%
During the month under analysis, the Fishing sector increased by 60.96% due to the greater extraction of species of maritime origin (68.90%), mainly from the fishing for indirect human consumption (anchovy for fishmeal and fish oil) extracting 766,419 tons against 311,499 tons reported in November of 2022, which was translated in an increase of 146.04%. This result corresponded to the second month of the 2nd 2023 season of anchovy fishing in the north-center zone of the coastline.
Likewise, the fishing for direct human consumption showed a progress of 3.38% associated to the capture of species intended to frozen (9.7%) and for consumption in fresh state (2.7%). On the other hand, the preparation of cured (-57.0%) and preparation of canning (-14.0%).
The fishing of continental origin increased by 7.27%, due to the greater capture of species for consumption in fresh state.
Domestic cement consumption decreased by 8.37%
During November of the current year, the domestic cement consumption reduced by 8.37%, compared to the month of November of 2022, as a result of the lower dynamism of the private works and self-construction.
Granting of consumer credits grew by 9.0%
The INEI informed that the consumer credits placed in S/ 73,990 million, increasing in 9.00%. Followed by the mortgage loans that totalized S/ 63,316 million, registering an increase of 5.06%, compared with November of the year 2022.
On the other hand, the credits granted to big, medium small and micro-companies totalized S/ 213,683 million, a lower amount in 7.39%, compared to the same month of the last year.
Conversely, the placement of credit cards of multiple banking placed in 6,370 thousand units, reducing in with a reduction of 4.82% compared to the same month of 2022.
The total import amount reduced by 14.01%
With information available as of December 28 of this year, during the month under analysis, the total import amount was of US$ 4,092 million and decreased in 14.01% compared to the value registered in November 2022.
Likewise, the import of raw material and intermediate products placed in US$ 1,949 million, lower amount in 22.92%, compared with the value of November 2022; followed by the total import amount in the consumer goods that totalized US$ 913 million, showing a reduction of 11.42%, compared to the same month of the year 2022.
On the other hand, the import of capital goods and construction materials totalized US$ 1,227 million, a higher figure in 2.47%, compared to the same month of the year 2022.
Electricity generation grew 1.25% in December of this year
According to preliminary figures as of December 27 of the current year, the electricity generation increased in 1.25%, due to the greater generation of hydropower energy (58.5%) and renewable energy (84.0%). Meanwhile, the thermoelectric energy decreased (-45.2%).
In this regard, the greater production of the companies Chinango, StatKraft Perú, Orazul Energy Perú, ElectroPerú, Inland Energy, Egemsa, San Gabán, Parque Eólico Tres Hermanas and Enel Generación Perú, outstood.
