Sector services provided to companies registered increase of 0.77% in August 2023

In August 2023, Sector services provided to companies registered a growth of 0.77%, compared to the same month of the last year, determined by the good performance of professional, scientific, technical, advertising activities and research market. Nevertheless, the activities of administrative and support to companies’ services activities and travel agencies and tour operators reported a decrease. The sector services provided to companies registers till August 2023 an accumulated variation of 1.26%.

Advertising and markets research registered increased by 7.95%, driven by the category of advertising, due to the increase of advertising investment for the development of seasonally campaigns, launch of new trademarks and innovative products, growing demand of online marketing, programs of customer loyalty, advertising incentives such as electronic gift cards and influencers marketing to boost a brand to a target audience. In addition, the activity of market research reported a growth by market diagnosis, surveys, regional and local studies in politic, social and economic subjects.

Professional, scientific and technical activities reported an increase of 2.03%, in response of the development of architectural and engineering activities and related activities of technical advice. Also by allocation of civil engineering projects, project management, technical consulting, installation and maintenance service of electricity and telecommunications distribution networks, extension of civil works, increase of mining works and valuations of projects executed by fulfillment of milestones.

Management consultancy activities carried out in management, business consulting, organizational and financing consultancy sectors. At the same time, the activities of accounting grew by digital accounting and payroll (labour) outsourcing, physical and electronic accounting books and tax audits.

Nevertheless, essays and technical analysis registered a decrease by lower samples received and processed before the completion of contracts. Likewise, the legal activities reduced due to a lower demand of notarial services and legal consulting.

The activities of administrative and support services reported a decrease of 1.95%, by a decrease registered in activities of private security due to the reduction of surveillance posts, removal of security posts in mining, lower demand of personal protection and safety advising due to termination of contracts with main customers.

In the same way, operational rental and leasing activities of other types of machinery, equipment and tangible goods, decreased by the completion of projects. The same trend was registered the activity of temporary employment and job placement agencies due to lower demand of personnel and contract administration. Likewise, the activities of collection agencies and credit reporting agencies showed a negative trend by contraction of client portfolio.

Likewise, telephone exchanges and office management activities combined decreased due to the lower attention of calls, logistic services, containers transportation and consolidated cargo.

Travel agencies and tour operators registered a decrease of 12.56%, due that travel agencies that contracted lower travel packages, air tickets and reservation services at national and international level before the changes of potential clients election that choose for organizing travels by their own, influenced by economic factors.

Likewise, the incentive and corporative travels reduced by teleworking model and the performance of events, workshops and conferences in a virtual way.

On the other hand, the activity of tour operators grew by the recovery of receptive and domestic tourism, before the arrival of foreign and national tourists.
