Perú formará parte del Comité Ejecutivo de la Conferencia Estadística de las Américas de la Cepal

The Statistical Conference of the Americas (SCA)closed its twelfth meeting in Santiago de Chile and at the conclusion of the event, announced that Peru will be part of its Executive Committee.
Peru’s participation in this Committee will represent an important milestone in the country’s contribution to the development and promotion of the quality of statistics in the region, also allowing it to share best practices and knowledge with other nations.
To Peru will also be added in the Committee, Argentina, Bahamas, Spain, Granada, Mexico and Uruguay. While the Dominican Republic will assume the presidency of the SCA for the 2024-2025 biennium.
The INEI (National Institute of Statistics and informatics) in Peru, is the is the central body and governor of the National Statistical System, responsible for regulating, planning, directing, coordinating and supervising the official statistical activities of the country.
The Executive Committee of the SCA has among its main functions the preparation of a biennial program of statistical activities for review, overseeing the execution of agreements and tasks, and deciding on the documentation necessary for its meetings.
The Statistical Conference of the Americas operates, as a subsidiary body of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), and among its objectives are to promote the development and improvement of national statistics and their international comparability. It also seeks to promote international, regional and bilateral cooperation between national offices and international bodies.
