The INEI extends the deadline till October 15 of 2023 to give information to the National Registry of Municipalities

The National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) informed that the deadline extends till 15 of this month, to update the data for the National Registry of Municipalities (RENAMU) 2023, for those municipalities of the country that are filling out the On-Line Form or the printed form. This statistical research will consolidate information of the 196 Provincial Municipalities, 1 thousand 695 District Municipalities and 2 thousand 859 Municipalities of Populated Centers.

The RENAMU will allow to have information about citizen security, management of disaster risks, public services, protection and environmental protection and conservation, licenses issued for operating business, building and edification y urban enablement, education, culture and sport, health, social organizations, treated cases in Municipal Ombudsmen’s Offices for Girl, Boy and Adolescent, promotion of local economic development, neighborhood participation, collection of solid wastes, among the main variables of municipal management.

In addition, collects information about the personnel by occupation category and employment status, equipment and computing resources, among others, in order to provide updated information and useful for authorities, researchers, students and general public.

The INEI informed that the provincial and district municipalities across the country may fill out the “Form 01: National Registry of Municipalities 2023” that is available on the following link https://renamu.inei.gob.pe/2023/#/login/f01, using the username and access password the that were provided by the INEI through official letter of request addressed to the mayor.

Likewise, the municipalities of populated centers may fill out its information in the “Form 02: National Directory of Municipalities of Populated Centers 2023” through the following link: https://renamu.inei.gob.pe/2023/#/login/f02.

In the case of having a difficulty to fill out the on-line form or to access to the Internet service, the INEI makes available to each one the provincial, district municipalities and populated centers of the country the PDF form, which can be downloaded and printed from the INEI website, entering the following link https://www.gob.pe/institucion/inei/informes-publicaciones/3364652-registro-nacional-de-municipalidades-renamu-2023.

In order to facilitate the delivery of the information, the INEI extends the deadline to fill out the on-line form till October 15 of this year. In the case that you complete the printed form, the municipalities of Lima Metropolitan area must scan it and send to the following e-mail renamu@inei.gob.pe; while the municipalities located inside the country must send it to the Departmental and Zone Offices of the Institution, which addresses and electronic mails are available in the following link https://www.gob.pe/institucion/inei/sedes.

The municipalities that do not comply with the presentation of the requested information in the stablished deadline will be penalized in accordance with the articles 87°, 89° and 91° of the Supreme Decree Nº 043-2001 PCM. In addition, it is reported that the payment of the fine does not relieve the obligation to provide the information requested.
