Services rendered to companies increased 1.57% in April of this year

The National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) informed that in April of 2023, the services rendered to companies sector registered an increase by 1.57%, compared to the same month of the last year. During the period January-April of this year, the mentioned sector grew by 1.28%.

The outcome achieved during the month under study, was explained by the progress of its main components: professional, scientific and technical, advertising and market research and administrative and support service for companies’ activities. Nevertheless, the activities of travel agencies and tour operators decreased.

Professional, scientific and technical activities registered an increase of 2.38% due to the growth of the architectural and engineering associated to the increase of projects of the mining activity, consulting services in civil engineering, supervision of works, new work fronts due to road and highway maintenance and valorization of works due to the increase of mining labors.

Likewise, the essays and technical analysis due to the samples received and processed of minerals, metallurgical test and certifications of agricultural products. The activities of consultancy of business management spread in response to the advising and consultancies in business, process optimization, digital transformation, training and management services; also grew the accounting activities due to the greater request of accounting, tax, financial and audit consultancies.

On the other hand, the legal activities due to lower judicial processes, closure of cases won decrease of recoveries and flow of public to notaries, decreased.

Advertising and market research registered an increase in 4.25% based in the advertising area, due to the increase of publicity campaigns through designs and digital logo and trademark animation, advertising in media, renting of digital spaces, advertising of online marketing, promotion services and new business partners in the market.

Nevertheless, the market research and performance of surveys of public opinion reduced before the lower market studies, consulting in economic, social studies, reduced surveys, and national level surveys.

The activities of administrative and support services activities grew by 0.30% bases on the development of private security activities and security systems, before greater surveillance contracts, personal safeguard, and transportation of values and custody of goods.

Likewise, the activities of renting and operational leasing of other types of machinery, equipment and tangible goods due to greater requirement of heavy-duty machinery for mining sector; general cleaning of buildings, offices, private residences, hospitals, schools, administrative and industrial buildings.

The activities of temporary employment agencies and job placement registered an increase due to greater request of recruitment and personnel selection. Nevertheless, the activities of collection agencies and credit reporting agencies decreased.

During April of this year, the activity of travel agencies and tour operators decreased by 9.86%, mainly because of travel agencies before the lower demand of air tickets, cancellation of tour reservations and hotels, lower foreign tourist arrival, reduced departure of domestic and abroad flights, due to rains seasons and natural disasters, that hampered the tourism operability.

Likewise, the activities of tour operators were affected by the lower reception of domestic tourists and lower transit of foreign travelers to the interior of the country.
