Services Rendered to Companies increased by 1.33% in March of 2023

In March of 2023, the production of services rendered to companies grew by 1.33%, compared with the same month of the last year, explained by the progress of its components: professional scientific and technical activities, advertising and market research, activities of administrative and support services to companies. Also by the progress of activities of support to companies as well as travel agencies and tour operators. The National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) also informed that during the period January-March of this year, this sector reported an increase of 1.17%.

Professional, scientific and technical activities reported a positive performance of 1.69%, determined by the growth of architecture and engineering activities due to new projects, tenders won, valorizations approved, new work fronts and engineering in civil construction.

In addition, the essays and technical analysis increased due to the analysis of environmental and mineral samples at national level. Consulting activities of business management grew due to the management, business consulting, strategic planning, adaptability and organizational innovation services.

Legal activities were driven by the attention in notarial procedures, legal cases, progress of judicial processes and contract renewal. Likewise, the accounting activities grew before the request of accounting, labor and tax consulting, audit services and customer loyalty; as well as the presentation of the 2022 annual tax declaration to the National Superindentency of Customs and Tax Administration (SUNAT).

The INEI stated that advertising and market research reported an increase of 2.23%, mainly by the advertising sector, due to the development of advertising campaigns for back to school season and autumn season, demand of designs and digital animation, online marketing and trade marketing. At the same time, the research market and the conduct of public opinion surveys decreased due to end of contracts with main customers and lower demand of regional and local studies in socioeconomic subjects.

During March of this year, the activities of administrative and support services increased by 0.47% due to the development of private security activities and security system services, by surveillance contracts, securities custody, security advisory, remote, electronic and specialized security.

Likewise, general cleaning activities reported an increase due to new cleaning contracts of hospitals, schools, administrative and industrial buildings. Collection agencies and credit reporting agencies registered greater movement as well as call centers that have greater customer service attention, telemarketing and technical support for campaigns.

Nevertheless, rental and operational leasing decreased before the lower requirement of heavy machine and specialized equipment, due to cancellation of projects and work stoppage.

During March of this year, travel agencies and tour operators increased by 1.88%, due to the dynamism showed by travel agencies activity due to the demand of air tickets, cruises tickets and tourist packages to different national and international destinations for holiday season, and the launching of special deals and offers in the 2023 Cyber Travel.

In the performance of this sector influenced the support of PROMPERÚ, MINCETUR and the National Chamber of Tourism with programs such as “Con Punche Perú Turismo”, which objective is to boost the domestic and foreign tourism. Nevertheless, there were affected the tourist operators due to lower inflow of tourist, contraction in the lodgings accommodation booking, trips, full days and tours, affected by heavy rains and floods.
