Blueberry production reached 42 thousand 40 tons In november of the year 2022

During November of the year 2022, across the country, the blueberry production reached 42 thousand 40 tons and exceeded in 16.0% compared to the same month of 2021, based on the high demand of the domestic and foreign market; this was informed by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics through the technical report Peru: Departmental Economic Outlook.
 
According to departments, the production of this crop increased in La Libertad (33.5%), Ica (17.1%) and Lambayeque (1.3%), that together with the 85.4% of the national total, the same trend registered Moquegua (16.0%).  On the other hand, it reduced the crop in the departments of Piura (-16.9%), Lima (-13.5%) and Ancash (-7.7%).  
 
Grape production increased in five departments
During the month under study of 2022, grape production increased in the Departments of Lambayeque (27.5%), Piura (10.6%) and La Libertad (9.0%) and contributed 89.1% of the national total. Also, grew in San Martin (294.3%) and Cajamarca (57.7%); Nevertheless, it decreased in Arequipa (-37.6%), Ica (-34.1%) and Ancash (-0.7%). 
 
At national level, the grape production amounted 121 thousand 695 tons and increased in 4.6% compared to November of 2021, due to the favorable thermal conditions that allowed the crop fertilization, added to greater foreign sales of this fruit. 
 
81.7% of the national poultry production was concentrated in La Libertad, Arequipa and Lima 
In November of 2022, poultry production outstood in the main production centers placed in the Departments of La Libertad (3.2%), Arequipa (2.6%) and Lima (1.6%), by contributing with the 81.7% of the national total; likewise, positive performance was reported in Huanuco (1.2%) and Junin (0.4%).
 
On the other hand, poultry production decreased in Ica (-6.8%), Apurimac (-4.3%), Moquegua (-4.3%), Ayacucho (-3.9%), Huancavelica (-3.8%), Pasco (-3.6%), Piura (-3.2%), Lambayeque (-3.1%), Tumbes (-3.0%), Ucayali (-2.8%), Amazonas (-2.6%) and Cusco (-2.2%), among others.
 
Poultry production at national level increased in 1.0% compared to the same month of the year 2021, associated to the greater production of chicken and laying hens.
 
Copper production increased 14.6%
During the month under analysis, copper production increased in 14.6% compared to the same month of 2021 and accumulated three consecutive months of positive behavior.
 
This result was mainly driven by the contribution of the Company Anglo American Quellaveco that started operations since September of 2022; as well as the greater levels extracted in Antamina, Minera Shouxin Peru, Cerro Verde, Southern Peru Copper Corporation and Sociedad Minera El Brocal. Nevertheless, the companies Minera Las Bambas, Minera Chinalco Peru and Marcobre, decreased its production.
 
At departmental level, Moquegua (149.7%) led copper production followed by Pasco (21.5%), Ancash (20.3%), Tacna (18.9%), Ica (13.7%), Arequipa (5.3%), Cajamarca (2.9%) and Cusco (0.1%). Nevertheless, it decreased in Puno (-26.6%), Huancavelica (-22.9%), Apurimac (-16.9%), Ayacucho (-16.1%), Junín (-11.7%) and Lima (-10.1%).
 
Electricity production increased in 6.4%
During the month under study, the production of electric energy presented a growth of 6.4% compared to November of 2021, determined by the greater power generation of mainly thermic origin in the power stations of Kallpa, Chilca I, Fenix, Ventanilla and Termochilca. 
 
Nevertheless, it contracted the generation of hidraulic energy in the power stations of El Platanal, Restitucion, Chaglla, Mantaro, Cerro del Aguila, Cañon del Pato, Yuncan and Charcani III, IV y V, among others. In addition, there was observed a reduction in the generation of non-conventional renewable energy, due to the lower production of Eolic energy.
 
The departments that showed a favorable performance were Moquegua (206.3%), Puno (134.2%), Lambayeque (36.5%), Lima (27.2%), Piura (14.7%), Loreto (4.8%) and Arequipa (2.4%). Meanwhile it decreased in San Martin (-91.0%), Huánuco (-68.7%), Pasco (-53.9%), Madre de Dios (-47.4%), Cajamarca (-46.2%), Junín (-45.0%), Ancash (-33.1%), Apurimac (-30.2%), Tacna (-29.4%), Amazonas (-26.8%), Cusco (-22.2%), La Libertad (-15.6%), Ica (-10.3%), Huancavelica (-9.8%) and Ayacucho (-0.7%).
 
Revenues collected by internal taxes presented negative result
During the month under analysis of 2022, the revenues collected by internal taxes amounted increased to 9 thousand 948 million 116 thousand Soles, a lower figure in 6.9% compared to the amount registered in November of 2021 (10 thousand 685 million 529 thousand Soles).
 
In this unfavorable behavior, came into play the lower payments collected from the second category income tax, general value added tax (IGV) of own account and the selective excise tax (ISC).
 
Among those that registered decrease were the departments of Arequipa (-20.2%), Madre de Dios (-11.2%), La Libertad (-11.1%), Lima (-8.1%), Tumbes (-4.7%), Ayacucho (-1.4%) and Huancavelica (-0.2%); meanwhile that there were registered increases of collection in the departments of Pasco (40.6%), Cusco (34.6%), Moquegua (31.1%), Apurimac (23.1%), San Martin (22.0%) and Cajamarca (21.1%), among the main ones.
