Restaurant activity increased 6.32% In november of 2022

In November of 2022, the restaurant activity grew in 6.32% as a result of the positive development of its three out of four components, mainly influenced by the Football World Cup, Black Friday and Cyber Days; this was informed by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI). Also, informed that during the period January-November of 2022, this activity showed a progress of 24.61%.
 
In 8.26% increased the restaurants group 
Restaurants group increased in 8.26% due to the growing activity of the establishments such as Pollerías (Grilled Chicken), restaurants, Chifas (Chinesse food), fast foods, coffee restaurants, touristic restaurants and Cevicherías (Seafood restaurant), explained by the extension of the service hours, expansion of the buffet service, trade partnerships with financial institutions, wider dissemination in social networks, promotions and discounts due to Black Friday and Cyber Days. 
 
Also, added to this result the events organized by the Day of the Salchipapa and the organization of food fairs such as “XXII Shrimp, Piscos and Wines Festival 2022”, "Huachana Sausage Festival", “Food Fair Meat and Fire” and “I Arequipa Food Expo-Fair 2022”. In this context, it outstands the business of meats and grills, Japanese food, international food, Creole food, pizza restaurants, sandwich restaurants and confectioneries. 
 
Beverage service increased in 13.65%
During the month under study, beverage service grew 13.65% due to the activities of coffee shops, Juice shops, Bar restaurants, discos and bars, based on the national and foreign tourist flow, greater consumption in programs of healthy diet, free bar drinks of Chilcanos, drinks and unlimited snacks, free Wi-Fi service, birthday’s promotion, discounts through remuneration account in financial institutions and due to the subscription in print media. Likewise, it also contributes to this positive result the beginning of the Qatar Football World Cup 2022.
 
In 90.87% increase the supply of foods by catering 
During November of the year 2022, the supply of foods by catering showed a progress of 90.87% linked to the greater contracts of services of preparation and distribution of foods for events such as business meetings, corporate meetings, social events, cocktails, fairs and press conferences. 
 
Other activities of food service decreased in 4.54%
The INEI informed that other activities of food service decreased in 4.54% due to the lower requirement of contracts of food dealers with companies of fishing, manufacturing, cement plants, mining companies, bank, universities, hospitals and clinics, associated to social conflicts and to lack of business confidence. 
 
Nevertheless, it increased the food supply for contractors (food services to transportation companies) due to the increasing flow of passengers attracted by the special deals in touristic packages and opening to new destinations.
