Commercial Activity Grew 2.99% In November 2022

During November of 2022, the production of Commerce sector increased in 2.99%, compared with the same month of the year 2021, due to the dynamism of its three big components; this was informed by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI). Likewise, it stated that during the period January-November of 2022, this sector registered a progress of 3.41%.  
 
In 3.18% increased the wholesale trade 
The wholesale trade grew in 3.18% driven by the sale of other type of machinery and equipment used in industrial activities (Expo Textil Perú), in the energy and mining field. The same behavior presented the sale of computers, peripheral equipment and informatic programs due to special offers during the Cyber Day y Black Friday. 
 
Also, it was favored the sale of other household goods explained by the greater distribution of pharmaceutical, cosmetic products and cleaning supplies and personal care, stationary items, books, newspapers and magazines. Likewise, it increased the non-specialized sale due to the increase of the demand of chemical fertilizer and of personal protective equipment; the sale of textile products, clothing items and footwear due to Christmas pre-campaign; as well as the sale of liquid and gaseous fuels and allied products targeted to the mining and industrial sector, retail supply centers and distributors of domestic gas. 
 
On the other hand, it decreased the sale of construction materials, hardware products and equipment; and of wastes, fertilizers and industrial chemical products.
 
Retail trade increased in 3.03%
During the month under analysis, the retail trade increased in 3.03% due to the sale of pharmaceutical and medicinal products, cosmetics and toiletries for Christmas pre-campaign; as well as the sale of computers and peripheral units due to greater commercial strategies.
 
Likewise, it grew the sale of new products in specialized warehoused, such as personal protection, agrochemicals and veterinary products; the sale of foods in specialized warehouses due to greater demand of groceries, vegetables and legumes; the sale by mail order and by the Internet due to the greater activity of web platform; the sale of clothing items and footwear due to the greater demand before special offers and discounts. Also, it increased the sale of books, newspapers and stationary items due to demand of office material and stationary, events and book fairs.  
 
On the other hand, it decreased the sale of hardware products, paints and glass products; the sale of products in supermarkets, hyper-markets and minimarkets, as well as the sale in department stores. 
 
In 1.28% increased the automotive trade 
During November of the year 2022, the automotive trade increased in 1.28% associated to the greater commercialization of light and heavy-duty vehicles; as well as the maintenance and repair of automotive vehicles due to the greater demand of washing facilities, repair of collision and springs.  
 
Nevertheless, it contracted the sale of parts, pieces and accessories of automotive vehicles; as well as the sale, maintenance and repair of motorcycles and its parts, pieces and accessories.
