Mining And Hydrocarbons Sector Grew 5.06% In November 2022

In November of 2022, the production of Mining and Hydrocarbons sector increased 5.06% compared with the same month of the last year, motivated by the positive performance of the metallic mining activity (5.90%). In the mentioned month, it was registered the greater volumes produced of copper (14.6%), tin (9.1%), iron (6.2%) and zinc (1.2%); nevertheless, it was affected the production of molybdenum (-15.0%), silver (-10.2%), lead (-6.8%) and gold (-2.9%).
 
Through the technical report Conjuncture Progress of the Economic Activity, prepared by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), had been made available that, during the eleventh month of 2022, hydrocarbons subsector increased in 0.15%, due to the greater exploitation of natural gas (11.5%), dimmed by the lower extraction of natural gas liquids (-7.2%) and crude oil (-0.1%).
 
In 48.52% reduced the production of fishing sector
During the month under study, the Fishing sector decreased 48.52% explained by the lower extraction of species of maritime origin (-50.27%), mainly for indirect human consumption (anchovy for fishmeal and fish oil), registering an extraction of  310 539 tons, against the 917 919 tons reported in November 2021 (-66,17%); this capture corresponds to the Second Season of anchovy fishing in the North-Center Zone of the Peruvian coastline, initiated on November 28 of 2022.
 
Likewise, it was affected the direct human consumption fishing (-15.63%), registering a reduction in all its destinations: preparation of curing (-54.0%), frozen (-18.7%), canned (-18.3%) and for consumption in fresh state (-9.2%). In addition, the fishing of continental origin reduced in 24.81%, due to the lower extraction of species (-44.95%).
 
Electricity Subsector increased 6.92% in December 2022
According to preliminary figures, as of December 28 of 2022, the production of electricity subsector increased in 6.92% driven by the greater generation thermoelectric origin energy (87.8%); nevertheless, it decreased the generation of hydroelectric origin energy  (-32.9%) and renewable energies (-2.1%). 
 
Among the companies that registered the greater production were Fénix Power Perú, San Gaban, Engie, Kallpa Generación, Enel Generación Perú, Enel Generación Piura, Parque eólico Tres Hermanas, SDE Piura and Empresa Generación Huanza. 
 
In 2.10% decreased the domestic cement consumption
During November 2022, the domestic cement consumption decreased in 2.10% due to of the lower dynamism of the construction activity, mainly in private and self-construction projects. This result was reflected in the lower local clearance of cement and import of this product. 
 
Expense of investment of the Government increased in 53%
During the month under analysis, the Expense of Investment of the Central Government (S/ 5 012 million) increased in 53%, compared to the same month of 2021, due to the greater investment in construction, as well as the greater acquisition of machinery, equipment and other actives. Same trend showed the consumption of the Central Government that in nominal terms amounted to S/ 9 939 million, registering a progress of 1.54%, comparing to November of the last year.
 
Differentiated behavior reported credit granting
In November of 2022, consumer loans reached S/ 67 881 million, increasing in 24.18%, followed by the mortgage loans that amounted S/ 60 267 million, it means, 7.99% more than in the same month of the last year. Nevertheless, the credits granted to big, medium, small and micro-enterprises totalized S/ 230 732 million and showed a reduction of 2.92%.
 
On the other hand, the placement of credit cards of multiple banking was of 6 million 692 thousand units and presented an increase of 13.28%, compared to November of 2021. 
 
In 6.50% increased total imports
During the month under analysis, the total amount imported was of US$ 4 754 million and registered a growth of 6.50%, compared with the value reported in November 2021. 
 
Therefore, the import of consumer goods placed in US$ 1 027 million and increased in 11.50%, compared to the level registered in the same month of the last year according to information available as of December 20 of 2022. Followed by the acquisition of raw materials and intermediate products, that placed in US$ 2 529 million, registering an increase of 9.01%, compared to the resultant value of November of the year 2021.
 
On the other hand, the import of capital goods and construction materials amounted US$ 1 196 million and decreased in 2%, compared to November of the year 2021.
