Grape Production Reached 60 Thousand 408 Tons And Grew 22.8% In October 2022

During October of the current year, grape production reached 60 thousand 408 tons and increased in  22.8% compared to the same month of the last year, due to the appropriate thermal conditions that allowed the rejuvenation and fertilization of this crop; also it has been influenced by the greater levels of export.  This was informed by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), in the technical report Peru: Departmental Economic Outlook.
 
Among the Departments that presented the greater production of this crop are the following Ica (135.4%), Lambayeque (60.1%) and Piura (24.4%), by contributing with the 87.4% from the national total.
 
Departments of Lima and Ica led the asparagus production
During the month under analysis, asparagus production outstands in Lima (24.0%) and Ica (12.1%), by contributing with the 70.3% from the national total; nevertheless, it decreased in the departments of Ancash (-27.2%) and La Libertad (-9.5%).
 
Across the country, the production of this crop grew to 38 thousand 644 tons and increased in 4.7% compared to October of the last year, supported by the good climatological behavior that favors the growth of this vegetable  focused to the foreign market and agriculture. 
 
In 10 Departments increased the poultry production
Poultry production grew in the main production centers of Arequipa (3.1%), Lima (2.6%) and La Libertad (0.7%), which contributed with the 81.9% from the national total. Likewise, it increased in Tumbes (0.9%), Cusco (0.7%), San Martín (0.7%), Ancash (0.6%), Lambayeque (0.2%), Loreto (0.1%) and Madre de Dios (0.04%).
 
Nevertheless, it decreased in Moquegua (-6.1%), Apurímac (-5.7%), Pasco (-5.5%), Tacna (-4.6%), Piura (-4.1%),
Ica (-3.9%), Ucayali (-3.4%), Huancavelica (-2.8%), Huánuco (-2.4%), Cajamarca (-2.4%), Junín (-1.9%),
Ayacucho (-1.4%), Puno (-1.0%) and Amazonas (-0.9%).
 
At national level, poultry production increased in 1.4% compared with the same month of the last year, explained by the greater placement of BB chicken meat line, laying hen and fattening turkey.
 
Copper production increased in 7.5%
In October of the current year, copper production registered a growth of 7.5% compared with the same month of 2021 and added two months of continued positive behavior, supported by the contribution of the mining Company Anglo American Quellaveco that started its operations since September 2022, added to higher volumes of extraction reported in Hudbay Peru, Cerro Verde, Minera Las Bambas, Minera Shouxin Peru, Sociedad Minera El Brocal and Southern Perú Copper Corporation; meanwhile, it contracted in Antamina, Marcobre, Minera Chinalco Peru and Minera Antapaccay.
 
By Departments, it contributed with this result Moquegua (175.4%), Arequipa (8.3%), Apurímac (7.5%) and Cusco (7.2%), by contributing the 55.2% from the total of the copper production. Same trend showed Pasco (20.2%) and Huancavelica (7.2%).

Nevertheless, it reported lower levels of extraction in Ayacucho (-44.0%), Ancash (-19.2%), Junín (-13.2%), Cajamarca (-11.0%), Ica (-7.4%), Tacna (-3.4%) and Lima (-3.0%).
 
Electricity production increased in 4.8%, increasing just in 7 Departments
During October of this year, production of electric energy increased in 4.8% compared with the same month of 2021, explained by the greater generation of thermic origin reported basically in the power stations of Ventanilla, Chilca I, Fenix and Kallpa; in the same way, in the power stations of generation of renewable energy (Eolic and solar). Meanwhile that it was affected the generation of hydraulic energy in the power stations El Platanal, Charcani I, II and IV, Restitución, Chaglla, Cerro del Águila and Cañón del Pato, among others.
 
At Departmental level, it showed a positive performance: Lima (16.9%), Lambayeque (15.3%), Ica (10.8%), Cusco (9.8%), Ayacucho (7.3%), Loreto (1.6%) and Arequipa (1.5%).
 
On the other hand, it decreased in the Departments of Ucayali (-50.6%), San Martin (-39.2%), Ancash (-25.8%), Pasco (-24.2%), Apurímac (-23.0%), Amazonas (-22.2%), Junín (-21.8%), Cajamarca (-19.3%), Huánuco (- 19.2%), Huancavelica (-9.6%) and Madre de Dios (-9.3%), among others.
 
Incomes collected by internal taxes reached 10 thousand 739 million 233 thousand Soles and grew in 14.2% In October of 2022, the incomes collected by internal taxes totalized 10 thousand 739 million 233 thousand Soles and increased in 14.2% compared to the same month of the last year (9 thousand 406 million 800 thousand Soles), determined by the greater payments of the Income tax of third category and the Value Added tax due to the greater demand of products.
 
The Departments that outstands in its level of collection were Piura (73.3%), Arequipa (25.9%), Lima (14.1%) and La Libertad (2.5%), that together contributed with the 93.7% from the total collected at national level. Nevertheless, it decreased in Ica (-14.5%), Cusco (-6.5%), Madre de Dios (-6.0%) and Tacna (-0.9%).
