Fishing sector increased 29.03% in july of the current year

During the month of July 2022, the production of Fishing sector increased in 29.03% compared with the same month of the year 2021; this was announced by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) through the technical report Conjunctural Progress of the Economic Activity.
This result is explained due to the greater capture of species of maritime origin (38.65%), mainly anchovy for indirect human consumption (fishmeal and fish oil), that registered a volume of 438 032 tons, against the 197 476 tons reported in July of 2021, that mean tan increase of 121.82%, linked to the contribution of the capture corresponding to the first season of anchovy fishing in the north-center zone of the Peruvian coastline, that was in force till the third week of July; to which it added the contribution of the second season of anchovy fishing, related to the south zone of the country, which began the July 1st of the current year.
On the other hand, the landing for direct human consumption decreased 14.25% as a result of the lower capture of species intended to preparation of frozen (-25.4%), cured (-47.0%) and for consumption in fresh state (-2.5%). Also, continental origin fishing reduced in 25.15%, due to the lower extraction of species oriented to fresh state consumption (-44.9%).
Electricity subsector grew in 4.15% in August of this year
According to preliminary figures, in August 2022, electric9ity subsector increased in 4.15% compared to the same month of the last year. According to origin, increased the thermoelectric production (4.97%) and hydroelectric (4.15%); meanwhile, it decreased the production of renewable energies (-3.60%).
Among the main companies that presented greater production were: Electro Oriente, Chinango, Termochilca, San Gaban, EG Huallaga, Kallpa, Statkraft, Celepsa, Engie, Electro Peru and Egasa. Nevertheless, it presented a negative behaivor Termoselva, Egemsa, Enel Peru, Egesur and EG Huanza, among others.
Production of Mining and Hydrocarbons sector decreased in 5.80%
In July of this year, Mining and Hydrocarbons sector decreased in 5.80% compared to the same month of the last year; this unfavorable behavior was influenced by the negative performance of the sub-sectors components. Therefore, the metallic mining activity decreased 6.16% due to the lower volume mined of molybdenum (-15.5%), silver (-15.4%), copper (-5.8%), zinc (-2.9%), gold (-2.8%) and iron (-2.5%); meanwhile it grew the production of tin (13.6%) and lead (0,2%).
Likewise, the hydrocarbons subsector decreased in 3.38% due to the lower exploitation of liquids of natural gas (-15.7%). Nevertheless, it increased the production of natural gas (18.9%) and crude oil (2.5%).
Domestic cement consumption decreased in 3.84%
In the month under study, the domestic cement consumption decreased in 3.84% compared to July of the last year. Due to the lower dynamism in the execution of private Works reported within the month under analysis, that influenced in the reduction of the dispatch and cement import.
In 25.03% grew the granting of consumption loans
During the seventh month of the current year, the granting of consumption loans totalized S/ 64 330 million, increasing in 25.03% compared with the same month of the last year. In the same way, the mortgage loans totalized S/ 59 218 million and increased in 8.52%. Likewise, the credit granted to companies totalized S/ 241 206 million and showed an increase of 0.33%.
On the other hand, the placement of credit cards of multiple banking placed in 6 million 613 mil units, a greater figure in 18.12%, compared to the same month of the last year.
Total imports increased in 23.50%
In the month under analysis, the total amount imported was of US$ 5 379 million and grew in 23.50%, compared to the value registered in July of 2021, according to the information available as of August 18 of the current year.
In this positive result influenced the greater import of raw materials and intermediate products by placing in USD $ 2 975 million, registering an increase of 43.26%, compared to the value reached in July of the last year. Likewise, the value of the importation of consumption goods totalized USD$ 1 132 million and showed a progress of 17.52%. Nevertheless, the importation of capital goods and construction materials increased to USD $ 1 273 million, with a negative variation of 3,16%.
Collection of General Sales Tax increase in 10.94%
With information provided by the SUNAT, in July of the current year, the collection of the General Sales Tax (IGV) reached 3 712 million of Soles and registered an increase of 10.94% compared with the same month of 2021.
