Chief Of The Inei Participates In The Twenty-Firt Meeting Of The Executive Committee Of The Statistical Conference Of The Americas Of Eclac

From 24 to 25 August of the current year, the Chief of the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), Mr. Dante Carhuavilca Bonett, on behalf of Peru, participates of the 21st Meeting of the Executive Committee of the Statistical Conference of the Americas of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), that is developed in the city of Santiago de Chile.
It should be pointed out that the meeting involves the participation of the holders of the National Offices of Statistics of the member countries, United States System representatives and Cooperation Agencies. As part of the Peruvian delegation also assists Mr. Peter Abad Altamirano, Technical Director of the Technical Office of Panning, Budget and Technical Cooperation of the INEI.
During the event it is evaluated the progress of the implementation of the progress of the implementation of the Biennial Program of Activities of Regional and International Cooperation 2022-2023 of the Statistical Conference of the Americas of ECLAC. It also will be known the experiences of population census executed during the last months in the countries of the region such as Argentina, Costa Rica and Brazil; and it will be analyzed the perspectives of the upcoming census of the countries such as Paraguay, Jamaica and Dominican Republic.
On the other hand, it will be analyzed the perspectives in order to have a better measurement of the GNP in the context of the System of National Accounts 2025, as well as possible complementary indicators that reflects the well-being of people and the planet.
The inauguration of the event was in charge of Mr. Rolando Ocampo, Director of the Statistics Division of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), Mr. Marco Lavagna, Director of the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INDEC) of Argentina and President of the Statistic Conference of the Americas of ECLAC; and Mr. Stefan Schweinfest, Director of the Statistic Division of the United Nations.
