Movement Of Vehicles At A National Level Growed 5.1% In June Of The Present Year

The National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) announced that, in the month of June 2022, the National Vehicle Flow Index that reports the movement of light and heavy vehicles through toll booths increased by 5.1%, Compared to the same month of 2021, due to the biggest move of light units (6.9%); as well as the heavy ones (3.2%) due to the greater transit of heavy load units from 3 to 7 axles (2.2%). In the last twelve months (July 2021-June 2022) this indicator rose by 7.8%.
Circulation of light vehicles increased by 6.9%
In June 2022, light vehicle traffic reported by the country's toll booths rose by 6.9% compared to the same month of the previous year, driven by the progressive return to work centers, return to face-to-face classes , also for the various celebrations held such as Father's Day, the Inti Raymi festival and the patron saint festivities of San Pedro and San Pablo in different regions of the country, which favored the reactivation of the commerce and tourism sectors.
The checkpoints with the greatest movement were: to the north, San Martín (Moyobamba 5.6%) and Cajamarca (Pomahuaca-Pucará 0.5%); in the south, Arequipa (Uchumayo-Concession 28.7%, Patahuasi 23.7% and Matarani-Concession 12.1%), Ica (Marcona 26.1%), Moquegua (Ilo 10.3%), Puno (Santa Lucía 10.2%) and Apurímac (Pichirhua 1.8%); likewise, in the center, in Lima (Serpentín de Pasamayo 55.3%).
Traffic of heavy units increased by 3.2%
During the month of analysis, the movement of heavy vehicles through the country's toll booths registered a growth of 3.2% compared to June 2021, due to the favorable behavior of the national economy, mainly, the Mining and Hydrocarbons sectors. , Manufacturing, Construction and Commerce, which demanded these heavy load units for the distribution of their products.
The toll units that reported the most traffic were: to the north, Cajamarca (Pomahuaca-Pucará 13.1%), Áncash (Huarmey 3.2%), Lambayeque (Detour Olmos 2.4%), La Libertad (Virú 1.3 %) and Piura (Piura-Sullana 0.6%).
Also, in the south, Ica (Marcona 30.1% and Jahuay Chincha 9.9%), Puno (Caracoto 15.1% and Santa Lucía 6.5%), Moquegua (Pampa Cuéllar 13.2%), Arequipa ( Patahuasi 9.4%, Uchumayo-Concession 5.7% and Matarani-Concession 0.5%), Apurímac (Pichirhua 4.9% and Pampamarca 2.4%) and Ayacucho (Pampa Galera 0.7%).
In addition, in the center, it was higher in Lima (Variante de Pasamayo 16.4%, El Paraíso 4.6%, Fortaleza 3.4% and Serpentín de Pasamayo 3.0%) and Junín (Quiulla 3.4%).
Flow of heavy vehicles from 3 to 7 axles rose by 2.2%
In June 2022, heavy vehicle traffic in 3 to 7 axes rose by 2.2% compared to to the same month of the previous year, influenced by the greater circulation of heavy vehicles, such as trailers, semi-trailers and 3-axle trucks (6.9%), 4-axle (3.2%), 5-axle (5.7%) and 7 axes (12.1%). On the contrary, the movement of 6-axle vehicles decreased (-1.2%).
