Sector Services Rendered To Companies Increased 2.18% In May Of The Current Year

In May 2022, Sector Services Rendered to Companies grew in 2.18% compared to the same month of the last year, driven by travel agencies and tour operators and advertising and market research activities; while, administrative and support services to companies and professional, scientific and technical activities reported a decrease; this was informed by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI). During the first five months of the current year, this sector accumulated a progress of 2.68%.

Contributed to the positive results the discounts and special deals due to holidays, campaigns to boost domestic tourism, total opening of airports and limited capacity, brand launching, positioning and activation, advertising campaigns, marketing, publicity and advertising and market research.

During May of the current year, the activity travel agencies and touristic operators increased in 354.74% mainly driven by travel agencies that reported higher demand of national and international air tickets for leisure and corporate segment, reservation services, travel package, due to launch of discounts and special deals in dates such as Mother’s Day, Labor Day, holidays, campaigns and travel offers, as well as publication of contents in social networks intended to boost domestic tourism.

Likewise, it was also favored tour operator activity in response to greater flow and income of foreign tourist groups to the country and the demand of domestic passengers due to a variety of programs, new destinations, greater flexibility and confidence of traveler.

During May of this year, advertising and market research grew in 7,45% driven by advertising due to the demand of new marketing projects, execution of campaigns for Mother’s Day through digital and traditional marketing, as well as direct marketing and merchandising.

Likewise, it increased the activity of market research as a result of studies performed at departmental, regional and local level; as well as executing of surveys and polls in political and economic issues.

The INEI announced that the administrative and support activity registered a decrease in 1.38%, mainly due to the lower staff recruitment appointed to private security and physical security activities in private and public institutions. On the other hand, the activity services of security system grew due to greater demand from banking companies before the increase of theft and assault.

Call centers activity and collection agencies and credit information agencies activities decrease due to conclusion of campaigns and termination of contracts.

Likewise, it decreased the activity of temporary job and job placement agencies; services to buildings and gardening activities due to lower management of human resources, cleaning of buildings and industries and environmental cleanliness, respectively. On the other hand, the rent and operating lease grew due to machinery contracting and construction equipment.

During May of the current year, professional, scientific and technical activities decreased in 1.81% as a result of contracting of architecture and engineering as result of lower development of engineering projects, progress of public works and public tenders. Likewise, lower mining labors were reported, closure of projects, consulting and monitoring of works due to economic and political conjuncture the country is going through; nevertheless, it grew the essays and technical analysis activities due to the greater quality of samples received and processed nationwide.

Additionally, consulting of business management activities decreased due to the lower demand of business projects.

Likewise, there were affected legal activities due to the lower progress of legal processes, reduced the Flow to notarial procedures and closure of cases. On the other hand, it increased the requirement of accounting for corporate services, audits, accounting, tax and labor services, associated to the increase of commercial operations.
