Cement domestic consumption grew 1.68% in may of the current year

In May of the current year, cement domestic consumption increased in 1.68% due to the execution of private works; this was informed by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) through the technical report in the technical report Conjunctural Progress of the Economic Activity.
Also, informed that with this result this indicator of the Construction sector added four months of continuous growth, with a cumulative progress of 2.31%.

In 16.63% decreased the production of Fishing sector
During the month under study, Fishing sector contracted 16.63% explained by the lower capture of species of maritime origin (-17.27%), mainly of anchovy intended for indirect human consumption (fishmeal and fish oil) that registered an extraction of 1 069 431 tons, before the 1 324 191 tons reported in May of the last year, registering a decrease of 19.24%.
Likewise, the landing of fishery resources for direct human consumption decreased in 9.56% it reduced the production of canned products (-29.82%), for curing process (-12,03%), for consumption in fresh state (-10.41%) and frozen (-6.77%). It should be mentioned that, in May of this year, started the first anchovy fishing season in the Northern central zone of Peruvian coastline, area characterized mainly by greater availability of this resource.

Mining and Hydrocarbons registered a contraction of 6.62%
The INEI informed that, Mining and Hydrocarbons sector decreased in 6.62% compared to the same month of the last year, as a result of the negative performance of the metal-mining activity (-10.69%), before the lower volumes of production of zinc (-17.9%), lead (-15.9%), copper (-12.6%), silver (-11.1%), iron (-3.7%) and gold (-2.0%); nevertheless, it increased the production of tin (6.0%) and molybdenum (3.5%).
On the other hand, the production of hydrocarbons subsector grew in 20.33% as a result of greater exploitation of natural gas (79.9%), crude oil (10.4%) and liquids of natural gas (3.4%).

Electricity subsector increased 3.05% in June of the current year
According to preliminary figures, in June 2022, electricity subsector increased in 3.05%. Electric energy generation according to origin, grew in hydroelectric production (3.04%), thermoelectrical (2.13%) and renewable energy (13.76%).
Among the companies that increased its production outstanding the following companies: Termoselva, Termochilca, Egesur, Statkraft, Huallaga, Chinango, Egemsa, Enel Peru, San Gaban, Electro Peru and Fénix Power, among the main ones. Nevertheless, the companies that decreased its production were: Huanza, Enel Piura, Engie, Kallpa and Orazul.

In 22.25% grew the granting of consumer loans
During May 2022, consumer loans placed in S/ 62 588 million, increasing in 22.25% compared with the same month of the last year. Also, it increased the mortgage loans by totalizing S/ 58 214 million and reported a growth of 8.19%; as well as the credits granted to companies totalized S/ 232 232 million, it means, they registered a progress of 0.40%.
On the other hand, the placement of credit cards of multiple banking placed in 6 million 466 thousand units, a greater figure in 17.39%, compared with the same month of 2021.
Total import grew 14.03%
During the month under analysis, the total imported amount was of US$ 4 829 million and showed a progress of 14.03%, compared with the value registered in May 2021, according the information available as of June 22 of the current year.
In this positive result influenced the import of raw materials and intermediate products by placing in US$ 2 703 million and increasing in 32.42%, compared with the value reported in May of the last year. Likewise, the value of the import of consumption goods totalized US$ 901 million and showed a progress of 3.72%. Nevertheless, the import of capital goods and construction materials increased to US$ 1 225 million, registering a negative variation of 7.29%.
Collection of Value Added Tax increases in May 2022
With information provided by SUNAT, in May of this year, the collection of Value Added Tax (IGV) reached 3 990 million of Soles, likewise, the collected amount by the application of the Selective Excise Tax was of 383 million of Soles.
