Paddy rice production reached 330 thousand 825 tons and grew 32.5% in april of the current year

In April 2022, paddy rice production rose 330 thousand 825 tons a greater volume in 32.5% compared to the figure registered in the same month of the last year (249 thousand 692 tons); this was informed by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), in the technical report “Peru: Departmental Economic Outlook”.
 
This positive result was supported in the greater harvests obtained in spite of the inadequate thermal conditions that did not affect the maturing period of this harvest. The main producer Departments, such as La Libertad (819.1%), Ancash (17.4%), Arequipa (11.4%) and San Martin (5.5%) contributed with the 80.2% of the total national production.
 
Nevertheless, it decreased in Pasco (-70.8%), Ucayali (-70.0%), Huanuco (-36.6%), Puno (-36.5%), Amazonas (-6.5%) and Cajamarca (-5.1%).
 
In 10 Departments increased potato production
During April of this year, potato production increased in the major producer Departments, being Ayacucho (96.6%), Cusco (41.6%), Huanuco (11.7%) and La Libertad (5.7%) driven by the harvested areas due to a greater humidity in the soil that favored the tuber. Also, increased in Huancavelica (18.0%), Apurimac (16.8%), Arequipa (13.6%), Piura (6.5%), Junin (2.7%) and Cajamarca (2.3%).
 
Nevertheless, it decreased in Pasco (-16.6%), Amazonas (-13.5%), Puno (-6.7%) and Ancash (-0.4%) as a consequence of the unfavorable water and thermal conditions; it decreased in Lambayeque (-65.9%), Tacna (-42.9%), Lima (-30.0%), Ica (-14.0%) and Moquegua (-4.1%).
 
At national level, the production of this tuber totalized 1 million 166 thousand 615 tons and registered a growth of 5.9% compared with the same month of the year 2021 (1 million 101 thousand 953 tons).
 
La Libertad and Lima Departments contributed with 70.8% to poultry production of the country
During the month under study, the major poultry producer that registered a greater production were, La Libertad (4.5%) and Lima (1.3%) that contributed with the 70.8% of the total poultry production. Likewise, it registered positive behavior the Departments of Arequipa (6.1%), Ancash (5.5%), Loreto (4.1%), Ucayali (3.8%), Piura (3.3%), Ica (3.2%), Lambayeque (3.2%), San Martin (2.5%), Madre de Dios (1.9%), Tacna (1.2%), Tumbes (0.9%), Ayacucho (0.9%), Cusco (0.5%) and Huancavelica (0.5%).
 
On the other hand, it decreased in Apurimac (-4.4%), Pasco (-3.3%), Moquegua (-2.3%), Junin (-1.5%), Puno (-1.2%), Huanuco (-1.2%), Cajamarca (-0.9%) and Amazonas (-0.1%).
 
Poultry production, at national level increased in 2.6% compared to the same month of the last year, based in the increase of the placement of BB chickens, laying hen and fattening turkeys.
 
Copper production decreased in 3.1%
In April 2022, copper production was lower in 3.1% compared with the same month of 2021 and registered an unfavorable behavior but three consecutive months, which impacted in the reduction of exports. This result was explained due to the low level removed in Southern Peru Copper Corporation and Minera Las Bambas due to the stoppage of its operations, before the social conflicts generated with blockade roads and taking over of installations in different stretches of the South Roadway Corridor; also, decreased the extraction in the companies Los Quenuales and Pan American Silver Huarón.
 
This negative development was mitigated by the contribution of the company Marcobre that has been operating since July 2021 and due to the greater extraction performed in Minera Chinalco Perú, Sociedad Minera Cerro Verde, Sociedad Minera El Brocal, Minera Antapaccay, Antamina and Minera Shouxin Perú.
 
According to Departments, it decreased the production of this mineral in Moquegua (-74.9%), Puno (-60.2%), Apurimac (-40.7%), Tacna (-32.7%), Huancavelica (-25.8%) and Lima (-1,1%); meanwhile that Ica (204.9%) continues leading in the growth of copper extracted volume due to the development of the project Mina Justa. In addition, it registered a Good performance the Regions of Junin (33.9%), Ayacucho (17.7%), Arequipa (15.6%), Pasco (14.4%), Cusco (10.3%), Cajamarca (7.8%) and Áncash (5.8%).
 
In 2.7% increased the electricity production
During the month under analysis, the electric power generation increased in 2.7% compared with the same month of the last year, justified by the greater level of thermal origin energy, specifically in Ventanilla, Chilca I and Fenix plants. Likewise, it grew non-conventional renewable origin energy (Eolic and Solar); meanwhile, it decreased the generation of hydraulic origin energy, mainly in Mantaro, Chaglla, Huinco, Cheves, Matucana, Yuncán, Quitaracsa and Charcani V plants.
 
By Departments, influenced the greater production of electricity, the companies that are located in the Departments of Junin (19.4%), Cajamarca (19.3%), Ica (13.8%), Lima (5.1%), Ancash (1.9%) and Cusco (1.7%), among others.
 
Nevertheless, it decreased in Arequipa (-26.6%), Tacna (-10.7%), Pasco (-10.7%), Moquegua (-5.6%), San Martín (-4.4%), Huánuco (-4.1%), Apurímac (-3.1%), Huancavelica (-2.1%) and Puno (-0.1%).
 
Revenues collected by internal taxes grew in 46.0%
In the fourth month of the current year, the revenues collected by internal taxes reached the 19 thousand 647 million 432 thousand Soles, a higher amount in 46.0% to that collected in Aril 2021. That mentioned behavior was supported in the payments made in the areas that make up the Income Tax and the General Sales Tax, favored by the recovery of the different economic areas in the country specially in the areas related to services.
 
The main Departments that increased its collection and showed a greater participation were Piura (73.4%), Arequipa (56.3%), Lima (47.4%), Cusco (47.3%), Ucayali (36.5%) and La Libertad (23.4%), by concentrating the 96.5% of the total received. On the other hand, it decreased in Huancavelica (-17.1%), Ayacucho (-14.8%), Lambayeque (-2.8%) and Loreto (-0.2%).
