This was informed by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), in the technical report Evolution of Exports and Imports.

Also, informed that between the months of January to April 2022, the volume imported decreased in 1.1% due to lower income to our territory of consumption goods (-7.3%) and capital goods and construction materials (-5.2%).

In 8.2% increase the volume imported of raw material and intermediate products
During the month under analysis, the volume imported of raw material and intermediate products increased in 8.2% compared to the same month of the last year, due to higher demand of raw materials and intermediate products for the industry (3.6%) and fuels, lubricants and allied products (22.2%).

In this way, it outstanding the larger imported volumes of polyethylene of high density (3.0%), laminated and hot-extruded steel rods (120.6%), vinyl polychloride not-mixed with other substances (66.6%) and beans except for sowing (356.3%) that positively affect in the result of raw materials and intermediate products for the industry. Among the fuels, lubricants and allied products that reported positive results were crude oil (17.2%), Diesel B5 (32.0%) and B2 (26.3%), among others.

On the other hand, lower imported volumes of oil-cake and solid residues of soybean extraction (-1.2%) influenced in the negative result of raw materials and intermediate products for agriculture (-9.0%).

Acquisition of consumption goods decreased in 7.7%
During the month under study, the import of Consumption Goods in real terms from the registered in 2007 declined by 7.7% compared to the same month of the year 2021,due to the lower volume of purchase of consumer durable goods (-9.6%) and non-durable goods (-6.2%).

Among the capital goods for industry that showed unfavorable results were also the digital telecommunication devices (-21.9%), power shovels, bulldozers, wheel loaders and loader shovels (-11.2%), machines which super-structure could make a turn of 360° (-19.8%), machines that are able to perform two or more functions: printing, copy or fax (-4.5%). In addition, there was lower import in iron or unalloyed bars with grooves and laces (-55.8%), ceramic tiles with a water absorption coefficient lower or equal to 0.5% (-19.4%) and ceramic tiles with a water absorption coefficient higher than 0.5% (-17.5%) among other construction materials.

Total export volume decreased in 20.5%
During the month of study, the total export volume decreased in 20.5% compared to the same month of the last year, registering five months of negative behavior.
