Cement Domestic Consumption Grew 2.25% In April 2022

In April 2022, cement domestic consumption increased in 2.25% compared to the same month of the last year, mainly due to the execution of construction works, this was informed by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) in the technical report Conjunctural Progress of the Economic Activity.
In 37.47% decreased the production of Fishing Sector
During the month under analysis, Fishing Sector decreased in 37.47% due to lower fishing of maritime origin (-40.59%), for indirect human consumption (fishmeal and fish oil), where the capture of anchovy placed in 26 114 tons and compared with the 304 889 tons reported in April 2021, meant a decrease of 91.43%. It is worth to mention that this capture corresponds to the first fishing season in the South zone, area of limited liability of water resource and which distribution was affected by negative anomalies, before the presence of Kelvin waves in its cold phase.
On the other hand, the landing of fishery resources for direct human consumption increased in 4.56%, due to the catch intended to the preparation of canned products (30.96%), consumption in fresh state (12.22%) and for preparation of curing (1.32%); meanwhile that the catch intended to be frozen decreased (-4.58%). On the other hand, continental origin fishing decreased 6.63% before the lower extraction of species intended to be frozen (-17.41%) and for the preparation of curing (-22.22%).
Mining and Hydrocarbons Sector decreased in 0.77%
The INEI informed that the production of Mining and Hydrocarbons Sector showed a decrease of 0.77% compared with the level achieved in April 2021; explained by the unfavorable performance of the mining-metallic subsector (-4.73%) due to the lower production levels of zinc (-23.6%), silver (-4.4%), lead (-4.0%), copper (-3.1%) and gold (-0.1%); nevertheless, it increased the production of iron (7.6%), molybdenum (6.0%) and tin (1,5%).
On the other hand, production of hydrocarbons subsector grew in 26.20%, due to positive behavior of the natural gas exploitation (47.9%), liquids of natural gas (22.2%) and of crude petroleum (14.9%).
In 2.10% increased the production of electricity subsector in May of the current year
According to preliminary figures, in May 2022 Electricity subsector increased in 2.10% explained by the greater generation of thermoelectric (4.08%), hydroelectric (0.34%) and renewable (8.52%) energy origin.
Among the companies that registered greater production outstanding: Egesur, Kallpa, Orazul, Fenix, Statkraft, Chinango Electro Peru and Egasa among the main ones; nevertheless, Termoselva, EG Huanza, Engie, San Gabán, Enel Piura, Celepsa and Enel Peru decreased its production.
In 19.84% increased the granting of consumer loans in April of this year
During April of this current year, consumption loans were placed in S/ 61 209 million, increasing in 19.84% compared to the same month of the last year. Likewise, the mortgage loans totalized S/ 57 864 million growing in 8.11%; followed by the credits granted to companies that amounted S/ 234 587 million with a progress of 4.36%, compared to the same month of 2021.
On the other hand, the placement of credit cards of multiple banking was of 6 million 374 thousand units, registering an increase of 17.02% compared with April of the last year.
Total Imports increased in 30.63%
During the month under study, the total imported amount was of US$ 5 453 million, growing in 30.63%, compared to the value registered in April 2021 according to information available as of May 18 of the current year.
In this result outstood the raw materials and intermediate products importation that totalized US$ 3 183 million and showed an increase of 59.20%, compared with April 2021. Followed by the value of the importation of consumption goods by reaching US$ 915 million with an increase of 4.83%, compared with the same month of last year and the import of capital goods and construction materials that amounted US$ 1 353 million, with a positive variation of 4.12% compared with the month of April of the last year.
Collection of General Sales Tax increased in 14.97%
With information provided by the SUNAT, in April of the current year, the collection of the General Sales Tax (IGV) increased in 14.97% and reached 3 761 million de Soles; as well as the Selective Consumption Tax (ISC) by amounting 482 million of Soles, with a growth of 12.43%.
As compared with customs duties, it was reported a progress of 22.86% and totalized an amount of 3 707 million of Soles, compared with the month of April of the year 2021.
