Potato Production Reached 542 Thousand 47 Tons During March Of The Current Year Grew In 13.4%

During March 2022, potato production registered 542 thousand 47 tons and showed a growth of 13.4% comparing with the same month of 2021 (478 thousand 81 tons), driven by the increased yields and better performance obtained; this was informed by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) in the technical report Peru: Departmental Economic Outlook.
The greater production of this tuber was reported by the Departments of Ayacucho (31.0%), La Libertad (22.9%), Puno (21.1%) and Huanuco (14,1%) which together account the 52,9% of the national total. Likewise, it increased in Lima (65.0%), Moquegua (38.8%), Apurimac (28.8%), Cusco (23.7%), Ancash (19.5%), Huancavelica (18.4%), Amazonas (10.3%), Arequipa (2.9%) and Tacna (1.6%).
Nevertheless, it decreased in Lambayeque (-51.7%), Junin (-12.2%), Cajamarca (-5.2%) and Pasco (-0.6%) before the lack of water resource.
Departments of La Libertad, Ucayali and San Martin increased its production of paddy rice
The INEI informed that paddy rice production grew in the Departments of La Libertad (122.2%), Ucayali (75.2%) and San Martin (13.9%); nevertheless, it decreased in Ancash (-43.8%), Pasco (-38.6%), Huanuco (-18.7%), Madre de Dios (-10.6%), Junin (-4.1%), Arequipa (-3.6%), Cajamarca (-2.2%), Loreto
The INEI informed that paddy rice production grew in the Departments of La Libertad (122.2%), Ucayali (75.2%) and San Martin (13.9%); nevertheless, it decreased in Ancash (-43.8%), Pasco (-38.6%), Huanuco (-18.7%), Madre de Dios (-10.6%), Junin (-4.1%), Arequipa (-3.6%), Cajamarca (-2.2%), Loreto
(-1.0%) and Amazonas (-0.4%).
Nationwide, the production of this cereal registered 269 thousand 388 tons and increased in 1.9% compared with the same month of 2021 (264 thousand 237 tons), as a result of greater harvested areas and favored by the appropriate thermal conditions that contributed to the vegetative evolution and ripeness of crop domestic market-oriented.
In 13 Departments grew poultry production
During the month under study, poultry production was higher in 2.4% compared with the same month of the year 2021, boosted by the greater placement of BB chicken in meat line. This dynamism was observed in the Departments of Lima (2.7%) with a participation of 53.8% and in La Libertad (0.2%) with the 18.6%.
At the same time, it increased in Arequipa (7.4%), San Martin (3.7%), Piura (3.6%), Ucayali (3.1%), Madre de Dios (3.0%), Ancash (2.0%), Lambayeque (2.0%), Loreto (1.2%), Pasco (1.2%), Ica (1.1%) and Huanuco (0.7%). Meanwhile, it decreased in Apurimac (-4.6%), Amazonas (-3.7%), Cusco (-3.1%), Junin (-2.6%), Tacna (-1.3%), Ayacucho (-1.1%), Huancavelica (-0.9%), Cajamarca (-0.6%), Tumbes (-0.3%), Moquegua (-0.2%) and Puno (-0.2%).
Copper production decreased in 1.6% nationwide
During March 2022, copper production decreased in 1.6% compared to the same month of the year 2021, explained due to the lower volume obtained in Southern Perú Copper Corporation due to the stoppage of its operations Cuajone mine, followed by Antapaccay, Chinalco Perú, Gold Fields La Cima, Los Quenales and Nexa Resources Perú; nevertheless, the production of this mineral increased in the companies Antamina, Minera Shouxin Peru, Minera Las Bambas, El Brocal and Marcobre.
The Departments that reported negative results were: Huancavelica (-29.4%), Tacna (-18.4%), Cusco (-15.1%), Cajamarca (-13.6%), Junin (-2.4%), Lima (-2.2%) and Arequipa (-0.4%).
On the other hand, it increased in Ica (207.1%) that held the lead in the level extracted of this mineral the project Mina Justa; followed by Puno (75.4%), Ayacucho (63.8%), Ancash (25,3%), Pasco (9.1%) and Apurimac (2.5%).
In 2.7% increased the production of electricity across the country
During March of the current year, production of electric energy increased in 2.7% compared with the same month of 2021, drifted by the greater generation of energy from hydraulic origin basically in the centrals of El Platanal, Cerro del Águila, Cheves, Yuncan, Quitaracsa, Yaupi and Charcani V; also, the thermic origin in the plants of Ventanilla, Chilca II and Fénix; and eolic energy in the plant of Talara; meanwhile, it slightly decreased the solar origin energy generation.
At Departmental level, it increased the energy production in the companies located in Madre de Dios (38.8%), Junín (13.8%), Arequipa (13.7%), Ica (4.1%), Cajamarca (4.0%), Lima (3.7%), Lambayeque
(2.7%), Loreto (2.3%), Pasco (2.2%), Huancavelica (1.0%) and San Martín (0.6%). In contrast, there were registered unfavorable behaviors in Ayacucho (-29.6%), Ucayali (-21.7%), La Libertad (-20.2%), Amazonas (-17.5%), Moquegua (-8.4%), Cusco (-3.3%), Apurímac (-2.9%), Ancash (-2.3%), Tacna (-1.8%), Piura
(-0.6%), Huánuco (-0.5%) and Puno (-0.3%).
Incomes collected by internal taxes grew in 58.2% during March of this year
During the month of analysis, the incomes collected by internal taxed amounted 15 thousand 577 million 445 thousand Soles and increased in 58.2% compared to March of the last year, mainly explained by the greater payments for regularization of general income taxation of the fiscal year 2021. By Departments it outstanding Arequipa (389.2%), Piura (144.3%), La Libertad (55.0%) and Lima (44.7%) that represented the 94.8% of the national total; nevertheless, it decreased the amounts reported in Pasco (-9.9%), Huánuco (-4.7%) and Ancash (-3.5%).
