Domestic cement consumption increased 11.15% in November of 2025

The National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) based in the technical report Conjuncture Progress of Economic Activity informed that in November of the current year, the domestic cement consumption registered a growth of 11.15% compared to the same month of the last year, driven by the dynamism of works of the private sector.

Likewise, the period January-November 2025, increased 6.55% compared to the same period of 2024.


Production of Fishing sector decreased by 17.85%
The Fishing sector reduced 17.85%, during the month of November of 2025, compared to the same month of the last year, explained by the lower extraction of resources of maritime origin (-17.56%), intended for human consumption (anchovy for fishmeal and fish oil) by totalizing 762,975 tons, against the 1’068,249 tons extracted in November 2024 and that meant a reduction of 28.6%. In this result influenced the lower effective fishing days in the north-center zone of the Peruvian coastline, in which the extraction started on November 7; meanwhile that in November of 2024 the fishing developed since the first day of the mentioned month.


The landing for direct human consumption increased 22.24%, mainly due to the greater extraction of species for frozen (49.6%) and consumption in fresh state (8.6%); meanwhile, it decreased for the preparation of curing (-53.6%) and preparation of caning (-60.1%).

On the other hand, fishing of continental origin decreased by 22.34%, due to the lower extraction of species for consumption in fresh state (-16.5%), frozen (-46.1%) and preparation of curing (-40.6%).


Hydrocarbons subsector decreased 8.60%
During November of 2025, hydrocarbons subsector decreased by 8.60%, compared to the same month of the year 2024, determined by the reduction of the volume of exploitation of crude oil (-19.0%), production of natural gas (-9.0%), as well as liquids of natural gas (-1.3%).

The electricity production increased by 0.19%
The electricity production increased by 0.19% compared to November of 2024, based in the positive performance of the generation of energies of hydroelectric origin (10.08%) and wind-solar renewable origin (42.65%); meanwhile, under the production of thermoelectric origin energy (-19.12%).


It outstood by its greater production of electricity of the following companies: Termochilca S.A.C., Energía Eólica S.A., Orazul Energy Perú S.A., Energía Renovable del Sur S.A., Chinango S.A.C., Empresa de Generación Huanza S.A., Compañía Eléctrica El Platanal S.A., Statkraft Perú S.A., Electroperú S.A.,Empresa de Generación Eléctrica Machupicchu S.A.(EGEMSA), Empresa de Generación Eléctrica de Arequipa S.A. (EGASA) and Inland Energy S.A.C.

On the other hand, it showed unfavorable behavior the following companies: Orygen Perú S.A.A., Empresa de Generación Eléctrica San Gabán S.A., Kallpa Generación S.A., Engie Energía Perú S.A., Empresa de Generación Huallaga S.A., Fenix Power Perú S.A., among others.


Consumption credits grew 10.94%, the third highest rate of the current year
During November 2025, consumption credits placed in S/ 79,391 million, growing by 10.94% compared to the same month of 2024. Also, it showed a positive behavior mortgage loans by totalizing S/ 70,959 million, increasing by 6.62% and the credits granted to big, medium, small and micro-companies that placed in S/ 217,886 million, increasing g by 2.71%, compared to the same month of 2024.


On the other hand, the placement of credit cards of multiple banking placed in 6,794 thousand units, growing 8.28%, compared to the same month of the last year.


Imports increased by 2.75%
During the month of November of 2025, the total import amount was of US$ 5,063 million, registering a positive variation of 2.75%, compared to the value registered in November 2024, according to the information available as of December 28 of 2025.


Regarding this issue, it outstood the import of capital goods and construction materials with a total of US$ 1,549 million, increasing by 9.68% compared to the same month of the year 2024. Likewise, it showed a positive behavior the import of consumption goods that totalized US$ 1,129 million, growing by 0.38%. On the other hand, the import of raw materials and intermediate products placed in US$ 2,386 million and registered a decrease of 0.23%, compared to the value obtained in November of 2024.
