37.7% of the households have a computer during the third quarter of 2025

At national level, 37.7% of the households have a computer, during the third quarter of the current year, which meant an increase of 1.1 percentage points, compared to the same period of the last year (36.6%); this informed by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI).
According to the technical report Statistics of the Information and Communication Technologies in the Households, prepared with the results of the National Household Survey (ENAHO), the greatest percentage growth was registered in Lima Metropolitan area by 7.1 percentage points (by going from 48.3% to 55.4%), followed by the rest urban area by 1.3 percentage points (by going from 41.2% to 42.5%) and of the rural area by 0.6 percentage points (by going from 10.4% to 11.0%).
Access to the Internet service reached 59.7% of households of the country
59.7% of the households of the country have a connection to the Internet service, during the third quarter of the current year, which meant an increase of 1.5 percentage points compared to the same quarter of the last year (58.2%).
Regarding this issue it stressed the increase of the households with this service in the rest urban area by going from 59.6% to 62.8% (3.2 percentage points). Followed by the rural area by varying from 21.9% to 23.6% (1.7 percentage points) and in Lima Metropolitan are did not registered a significative variation.
Use of Internet in the population of 60 years old and older reached 51.2%
During the quarter under analysis, 51.2% of the population of 60 years old and older used Internet, a higher figure in 3.8 percentage points by comparing to the same quarter of the last year (47.4%).
The same trend showed the population of 41 to 59 years old that registered a progress of 80.7% to 83.8% (3.1 percentage points), the group of 6 to 11 years old registered a progress of 62.6% to 64.9% (2.3 percentage points), the population of 25 to 40 years old registered a progress of 92.9% to 94.2% (1.3 percentage points) and the population of 12 to 18 years old registered a progress of 91.2% to 92.4% (1.2 percentage points).
88.3% of the population who are Internet users of 6 years old and older used the Internet through a cellphone
During the third quarter of 2025, 88.3% of the population who are Internet users of 6 years old and older used the Internet through a cellphone (with or without data plan) and compared to the same quarter of the last year, registered a decrease of 1.6 percentage points.
In addition, outstood the use of other devices to get access to the Internet that included Smart TVs and other devices with WI-FI connection that reached a participation of 15.1% increasing in 1.9 percentage points, compared to the third quarter of 2024 (13.2%).

Population of 6 years old and older that used a cellphone reached 91.3%
At national level, 91.3% of the population of 6 years old and older used a cellphone, a higher figure in 0.5 percentage point compared to the same period of the year 2024 (90.8%).
The greater coverage was registered in Lima Metropolitan area with 93.7%, followed by the rest urban area (92.6%) and rural area (83.6%). By comparing these results with the same quarter of the last year grew in Lima Metropolitan area (0.9 percentage point) and in the rest urban area (0.5 percentage point); while that the rural area did not show a significative variation.
