National production increased 3.62% in October of 2025

During the tenth month of the current year, the national production registered a growth of 3.62%, compared to the same month of the year 2024, based in the positive evolution of the majority of sectors among the main ones were Mining and Hydrocarbons; Other services; Commerce; Manufacturing and Construction, which together explained the 70% of the global result.


The National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) in the technical report National Production it stated that it also registered a positive behavior in Services of Government; Transportation, Storage and Courier; Services Rendered to Companies; Agribusiness; Accommodation and Restaurants; as well as Electricity, Gas and Water; among the main ones.


Likewise, it was informed that during the period January – October of 2025, the economic activity increased by 3.36%, compared to the same period of 2024 and in the last twelve months (November 2024- October 2025) by 3.66%.


Agribusiness sector increased 1.88%
During October of this year, the Agribusiness sector registered a variation of 1.88%, compared to the same month of the last year, based in the agriculture subsector by 1.59%, due to the greater volumes of strawberry (152.1%), apple (129.8%), coffee (53.3%), potato (14.0%), grape (5.9%) and paddy rice (5.0%) production; due to the greater volumes of strawberry production; determined by the greater cultivated area of the main agriculture products, that was favored by weather factors (rains and temperatures from normal to superior).


In addition, the livestock subsector increased by 2.37%, before the greater volumes of fresh milk (3.6%), poultry (2.9%), swine (1.7%) and eggs (1.1%) production.


The production of Fishing sector grew by 25.70%
The Fishing sector increased by 25.70%, compared to October of the year 2024; due to the greater capture of species of maritime origin (37.28%), for direct human consumption by 38.42%, in two of its four destinations: for frozen (81.5%) and consumption in fresh state (17.6%); on the other hand, it decreased the shipments for preparation of canning (-10.9%) and cured (-39.0%).


Nevertheless, the landing for indirect human consumption (anchovy for fishmeal and fish oil) registered an extraction of 830 tons that compared to the 3,362 tons extracted in October 2024, meant a contraction of 75.3%. On the other hand, the fishing of continental origin decreased 18.1%, as a result of the lower extraction of species for consumption in fresh state (-16.3%), frozen (-25.4%) and for preparation of curing (-40.6%).


Mining and Hydrocarbons progressed by 6.81%
Mining and Hydrocarbons sector registered a growth of 6.81%, compared to the same month of the last year, based in the positive result of the metal-mining subsector (7.18%), explained by the greater extraction of zinc (30.9%), copper (4.5%), molybdenum (16.3%), silver (13.0%), iron (5.4%), tin (31.7%) and lead (4.9%); nevertheless, the gold production decreased (-7.0%).


The hydrocarbons subsector increased by 4.21% due to the greater volume of exploitation of crude oil (14.0%) and liquids of natural gas (3.2%); on the other hand, the production of natural gas reduced (-2.1%).


Production of the Manufacturing sector increased 3.06%
During October of 2025, the Manufacturing sector registered a variation of 3.06%, according to figures of the Ministry of Production, determined by the favorable evolution of the primary manufacturing subsector (26.15%); nevertheless, the non-primary manufacturing subsector reduced (-2.64%).


The positive evolution of the primary manufacturing subsector answered to the greater activity of the of the branches of processing and preserving of fish, crustaceans and molluscs (369.3%); production of the primary products of precious metals and other non-ferrous metals (23.3%), and preparation and preserving of meat(1.9%); meanwhile, the preparation of sugar (-4.6%) and fabrication of products of crude oil refining (-1.4%) were affected.


The contraction registered by the non-primary manufacturing subsector was determined by the lower production of the industry of consumption goods (-9.41%) and intermediate goods (-2.26%); meanwhile that it increased the industry of capital goods (50.73%).


Electricity, Gas and Water sector grew 3.75%
The Electricity, Gas and Water sector increased by 3.75%, compared to the same month of the last year; explained by the result of the electricity (4.09%), gas (1.69%) and potable water (1.58%) subsectors. The positive variation of the electricity subsector was registered in the hydroelectric origin energy area by 42.15% and the non-conventional renewable origin energy (wind-solar) by 30.11%; nevertheless, the thermoelectric energy decreased by 29.13%.


The dynamism in the distribution of the gas subsector was linked to the greater demand of Companies by 39.4% and of the establishments of commercialization of Natural Gas Vehicles (NGV) by 4.3%; meanwhile, the distribution of Electric Generators (EG) contracted by 3,2%.


The increase of the production of potable water was based in the greater volume of generation of the following companies: Unidad Ejecutora Tumbes (Agua Tumbes) by 12.6%, Entidad Municipal Prestadora de Servicios de Saneamiento del Cusco (EPS Sedacusco) by 11.2%, Empresa Municipal de Servicio de Agua Potable y alcantarillado de San Martín (EMAPA San Martín) by 11.0%, EPS Grau S.A. by 9.2%, Seda Chimbote S.A. by 7.5% and Sedapal by 1.5%.


Production of the Construction sector increased 4.39%
During October of 2025, the Construction sector increased by 4.39%, compared to the same month of the last year; reflected in the positive performance of the domestic cement consumption(9.05%); which was attenuated by the reduction of the physical progress of public works (-4.82%).


The growth of the domestic cement consumptionwas based in the progress of private works such as the construction of multi-family buildings, modernization and edification of commercial facilities, supermarkets and chain of stores; at the same time contributed to the works in telecommunications, electricity, gas distribution, mining, hydrocarbons, among others areas.


The contraction of the physical progress of public works was registered in the National Government area in works of prevention of risks, basic services and construction of non-residential buildings. On the other hand, increased its level of investment in construction the Local and Regional Governments.


Commerce sector grew by 4.09%
The Commerce sector registered an increase of 4.09%, during the tenth month of this year, compared to the same month of the last year, as product of the wholesale trade (3.68%) linked to the sale of computers, peripheral equipment and computer programs; sale of fuels and lubricants before the demand of retail establishments and aviation companies; domestic appliance; machinery and equipment.


The retail sale increased 3.46-5 due to the dynamism of pharmaceutical and medicinal products, dermo-cosmetics and orthopedic products before the new product lines, opening of facilities and promotional strategies; fuels, due to new sale points; supermarkets and minimarkets driven by the implementation of strategies of promotions and discounts in key categories such as fresh foods and beverages, associated to the strengthening of electronic commerce and home delivery.


At the same time, the automotive commerce increased by 9.75% determined by the greater demand of light-duty, heavy-duty and small vehicles, driven by the performance of commercial events such as “II Festival Automotriz”, “Primer Car Meet 2025”, “ExpoChina 2025” and “Perú Cargo Week 2025”, also contributed the access to opportunities of credit and portfolio of new models. In addition, it added the sale of parts, pieces and accessories (pneumatics), as well as the maintenance and repair of automotive vehicles.


Production of the Transportation, Storage and Courier sector increased 3.95%
During October of this year, the Transportation, Storage and Courier sector showed a positive variation of 3.95%, compared to the same month of the year 2024, due to the favorable result of the transportation subsectors (2.85%), as well as storage and courier subsectors (6.63%).


In the growing behavior of the transportation subsector outstood the land and pipping transportation area (3.42%), due to the greater displacement by road of passengers (3.6%) and load (3.3%). In the increase of the transportation by pipping by 1.4% influenced the production of crude oil and liquids of natural gas; on the other hand, the transportation by rail decreased 1.32% due to the lower movement of load. Likewise, the transportation by waterways registered a positive variation by 13.93%, due to the greater transportation of goods and passengers by riverways, as well as the increase of the transportation of load by maritime ways.


O the other hand, the transportation by airby contracted 0.29%, before the back-up in the movement of load, both national and international.


The positive result of the storage and courier subsector answered to the greater services of storage and Courier and support activities to the transportation (6.9%); and postal services and courier (0.5%).


Accommodation and Restaurants sector increased by 2.86%
During October of 2025, the Accommodation and Restaurants sector increased by 2.86% compared to the same month of 2024; due to the dynamism of the restaurants (2.95%) and accommodation (2.12%). The restaurants subsector was driven by the greater activity in the restaurants business (1.27%), food services for transportation companies and concessionaires (8.16%) and beverage service (5.48%); meanwhile, the activity of supply of foods by demand decreased (-2.85%).


In addition, it favourably influenced theactivities developed by the Day of Creole Music, Halloween and gastronomic fairs. In addition, it added a greater flow of diners in the following establishments: sandwich restaurants, Creole food, international food, touristic restaurants, fast food restaurants, coffee restaurants, among others.


Production of Financial and Insurance sector remained a stable behavior
During October of 2025, the Financial and Insurance sector remained a similar level to thatregistered in October of 2024; as a result of thedevelopment of the credits of financial system that grew by 2.44%, meanwhile that the deposits of the financial system increased by 0.05%.


Regarding to the segment of deposits, were registered increases in the following entities: Public Sector (4.7%), Municipal Savings(4.1%) and Multiple Banking (0.2%); nevertheless, it decreased the deposits of Financial Companies (-41.2%) and Rural Savings (-0.2%). The credits of the financial system that registered increase corresponding to entities of the Public Sector (9.1%), Municipal Savings(6.8%), Multiple Banking (3.6%), Companies of Créditos-Edpyme (2.7%) and Rural Savings (1.6%); meanwhile that it dimed this trend the credits of the Financial Companies (-42.4%).


Telecommunications and Other Services of Information sector decreased by 1.01%
During October of 2025, the Telecommunications and Other Services of Information sector reduced 1.01%, influenced by the contractive result both other services of information (-1.22%) and telecommunications (-0.98%) subsectors.


The negative behavior of the other services of information subsector answered to a lower activity of TV and radio programming (-2.9%), activities of production and film exhibition, TV programs (-1.8%) and the activities of computer programming (-0.9%). On the other hand, the negative result of the telecommunication subsector was explained by the lower activity of telephone services (-6.3%) and of the services of data transmission (-3.3%); in spite of the greater activity of Internet services and pay TV services(7.4%).


Sector Services Provided to Companies grew by 3.76%
During October of 2025, the production of the Sector Services Provided to Companies increased 3.76%, compared to the same month of the last year, due to the greater activity of advertising and market research (6.44%); travel agencies, tour operators and reservation services (4.48%); activities of administrative and support services (3.86%); as well as professional, scientific and technical activities (3.30%).


Government services grew 4.45%
During the month under analysis, the Government services increased 4.45%, compared to the same month of the year 2024, based in the greater activities performed by the institutions of the Public Administration (4.44%), Defense (4.78%) and Other Services of Government (1.35%).
